Carina is both professional, and approachable- she speaks dog I swear! She was an absolute joy to have as support as we adapted to being new puppy owners. We participated in the Smart Pup program and by the end I felt we had the right level of confidence and the right tool kit to handle most challenges our puppy throws at us. Carina is always on time, and ready to listen and teach no matter the situation! Cannot recommend her enough.

had a really experience with Carina at Imagine. From the first conversation, she gave valuable information, and really understood the breed (Whippet). Our training schedule was interrupted by an unfortunate event (my dog broke his leg) and she was so flexible and understanding. Our training revolved around reactivity but it was so much more than that - building confidence, learning play, strengthening the human/dog bond - he is 100% a more happy dog! Her skills and extensive experience will not only allow you a truer understanding of your dog's behaviour and how to change unwanted behaviours, but also her insights will created a stronger bond between you and your dog. We all want to be understood, Carina listens to and understands people and dogs; she teaches you the skills that you need to communicate for a positive, lifetime relationship with your dog. The only regret you might have is not having contacted her sooner.

Carina is an experienced and energetic dog trainer, and worked very well with us, and most importantly, with our dog. He was genuinely excited to work on new skills with Carina. Carina's approach starts with building a foundation for living with your dog that works for you and your pet - eg, setting up your dog's space, having the right equipment, etc. She then teaches various behaviours and commands, which are useful in themselves, and also for the positive-reinforcement based method that can be applied to other areas of living positively with your dog.

I worked with Carina in the fall of 2022 until the spring of 2023 and it was an amazing experience. Carina is incredibly knowledgeable and a very experienced dog trainer. She gave practical advice for my dog's reactivity issues and the quick 5 minute games made it fun for both me and my dog! Carina is also very supportive and available to answer questions via email and text. She gave both me and my dog the confidence we needed to succeed and make our bond stronger.Carina is very flexible and worked around my dog's chronic health issues with absolutely no problem. Carina is the most qualified dog trainer I have ever seen in action. In just a few short minutes she has your (difficult) puppy engaged and shortly after that she is sharing her tips and tricks with you. She has also had great success with difficult older dogs. Imagine dog training takes a whole health approach when training - Carina helps break down behaviours in order to tackle them and empowers you, the owner to take control in a loving, firm manner. I would absolutely recommend Imagine Dog training to anyone who has a puppy, a rescue or an older dog that needs some reminders!

Over the last 15+ years, Carina has helped me with each of my various dogs' challenges.Taking classes with her is such a delight – I have so much fun learning that things that were once challenges just become opportunities to have more fun! Carina’s keen eye and ability to dissect behaviour issues has helped me be a better dog parent and more importantly, each of my dogs have benefitted. One of the most valuable things I’ve learned from her, is that dog training is not “one size, fits all”.

We worked with Carina in the summer and into the Fall of 2021. We were having difficulty with our COVID puppy's separation anxiety and some other behavioural issues. Carina came up with a detailed plan for how to address the issues incrementally, to allow him to adjust gradually. We've seen great progress with him but also in our knowledge and confidence in how to support him and meet his needs. Her approach was always on building on our relationship with our dog and how, even when he is showing behaviour we don't like, we can use positive reinforcement while fostering that bond.We did some group classes previously and looked at the available online resources but they're really no substitute for one-on-one time with a professional who really gets to know you and your dog.We were nervous that a trainer may judge us or our puppy but our experience with Carina was just the opposite. She really listened to us and what we wanted for our home and our dog and met us where we were. We never felt judged or that she was pushing us into something that didn't work for us. She took time to understand our lifestyle and did not try to push us into anything that we could not realistically do.As first-time dog owners, it is easy to think that every concern is a major problem or will be forever. Carina was great at putting things into perspective for us and explaining what is normal behaviour and why. She was available by text, which was very helpful as things came up between sessions and we needed guidance.She's relatable, friendly and kind and our dog loved her instantly! So much of dog training is about training the owners and it was important to us to find someone we felt comfortable with.If you are looking for a trainer or considering whether the investment is worth it, I highly recommend calling Carina, it was certainly worth it for us. We have a calmer, more confident puppy that we understand much better!
