I have had visits from VON PSW’s since Dec 2019 in Mississauga. Some PSW just do not show up. No courtesy phone call, nothing. I called the home care agent and was told they do not need to call. It is the prerogative of the PSW to just not show up. Months later, after surgery, and a discharge from hospital, I asked a PSW how late into the evening VON works as I was contemplating arranging an evening visit. Her response was: “an evening visit? Why would you want to do that? Just ask the security guard to come up and help you”. On April6, 2020, during the Covid crisis, a PSW showed up at my residence coughing and coughing. She did not have her mask on and did not attempt to cover her cough in any way. This is really what goes on at the front lines of VON. Unprofessional, unreliable when I require assistance most. Generally poor quality and poor service, disrespectful and discourteous.
