Ozzie and Friends Rescue

Our family was looking to adopt our first dog. Ozzie and Friends Rescue was the perfect place for us to get him. Nancy treated us like family from day one. She answered all of our questions by email, in-person, and by text. She was very friendly. You can tell that she loves what she does and takes very good care of her animals. When we arrived at Ozzie and Friends Rescue we witnessed other dogs being taken for a walk. Some are allowed to foster to adopt, which we chose to do. Nancy helped us by referring us to a great vet and suggested healthy food & supplements to keep his fur soft and shiny. After adopting our Ollie, we followed up with Nancy by text and she always asks for us to keep sending more pictures. We even took Ollie back for a visit and he was so excited to see Nancy (one of the pictures attached). A little about Ollie, he was rescued from a hoarders house in Mexico who had 40 other dogs. He was only about a year old. This was a crucial time in his life to make sure he was treated with the appropriate shots and received good care to prevent him from getting a lifelong illness. We quickly learned that Ollie was house trained, healthy, and just needed a lot of love. I have suggested Ozzie and Friends Rescue to several friends and will continue to do so. We're so grateful that Ozzie and Friends Rescue does the work they do and take such good care of animals that need the most love.

We rescued our Buffy with Ozzie and Friends and had a wonderful experience. They’re ethical and care about the well being of their dogs first and foremost.

I am so grateful to have found Ozzie and Friends. My fiance and I had been ready to add a new member to our family for a while, and had been searching for months with no success. Luckily, we showed up for an in-person adoption event at Ozzie and Friends. We didn't find our new pup that day, but we connected with Alice, who was SO helpful in doing everything she could to match us with the right dog. We adopted Luna from Ozzie and friends 3 years ago. She's been the best dog anyone could hope for! We got all of her papers and she was up to date on vaccinations. They care so much that they made sure we stayed on track with her further shots and vet appointments while she was a puppy. When you adopt a dog from Ozzie and friends, they do the right thing and make sure you follow through keeping your dog healthy while they are a puppy, and have a plan laid out for you to make the process easy.Please, people, remember that adopting a dog doesn't just mean getting something you can enjoy and discard, you need to be willing to make a commitment to taking care of it, and this rescue shares these values.With that said, there's a surplus of dogs who need a home and this rescue is driven by concern to make sure the dogs are well taken care of. If you don't share these values, you shouldn't adopt. If you do, you'll find no problems dealing with them. They've been great to us, but we had to do our part too.

Adopted my first dog from Ozzie and Friends. She started out as a foster but decided a week in I had to keep her. Ozzie and Friends were professional, easy to work with and made the process so seamless! They really care about all the dogs they work with.They even allowed me to come back with her a few times to get B12 shots for her as she was sick. Now she is healthy and happy as a clam! I love my dog and I always recommend Ozzie and Friends:)

I adopted my puppy from Ozzie and Friends two years ago, back when it was impossible to even get a rescue to respond to you because everyone was getting pandemic pups. Connie from OAF replied to my request with two possible puppies from a litter and helped me connect with the foster family to set up a meet and greet. Connie was so helpful those first few weeks with advice and info about taking her for her shots and spay surgery. I absolutely would adopt from OAF again and recommend you consider fostering and adopting from them as well!

Ozzie and Friends is a kind and trustworthy rescue who definitively makes great effort for the welfare of their dogs and are hardworking at that. Speaking from the perspective of a dearly close family member, I can’t say enough about the joy OAFR have provided for her and many others. And I can’t say enough how deserving the rescue is for the challenges they face to the purpose of giving dogs a good home.

I fostered a litter of puppies for Ozzie and Friends in February of 2022. At the time I had just lost two dogs within a month of each other. It was extremely difficult and I contacted so many rescues about my story, and my desire to foster a litter of small dogs. Most places told me there was a long waitlist for small dogs, and that I would not be able to adopt one once the fostering was over. Then Nancy called me. She interviewed me on the phone to ensure that the puppies had a foster that fit their needs. Not only was she willing to work with me, but she was extremely helpful with advice and knowledge regarding puppies that are so young and away from the mom. At the start of this I was so worried that something would go wrong or that I wouldn’t know how to care for these babies. Nancy took a chance with me and assured me that I could do this. Her and Connie became my lifeline during the process and I always felt like they were just a phone call away. They texted me daily to check in and gave me excellent advice. When my puppies were old enough to be adopted they let me have an input into who they would be going to (which I loved because I became attached to these little babies and wanted the best for them). They also let me adopt the one that I bonded with most! He’s been such a joy in my life and I can’t image life without him now. I’ve stayed in contact with everyone at the rescue and I can assure you they are 100 percent in it for the welfare of these dogs. Thank you so much Nancy, Connie and all the staff for everything you did for me. You guys take the pups that are in the most need of help and give them the furever homes they deserve. Once my little guy gets a bit older I’m hoping to foster again through Ozzie and Friends!

We fostered and then adopted a puppy two years ago from Ozzie and Friends after hearing about them from someone at the dog park. Everything about the experience was smooth— the puppy needed some medical attention as rescued litters often do, which was all paid for by Ozzie and Friends at their vet. We adore our rescued dog and I appreciate all the support that the volunteer Connie gave us during the entire process. Eternally grateful for our dog and Ozzie and Friends for how much they care and how hard they work to rescue and rehome dogs. If anything, I worry that their huge capacity for compassion leads to them taking on more rescues than their network of foster homes can help with. I recommend them to anyone iso an adoptable dog or puppy!

I did foster for OAFR for 2 years prior to adopt a dog rescued by Joe and Nancy last September. This organization is not only rescuing dogs but trust their fosters for a complete transition (mental and physical) from bad environment the pups came from to a happy home. Connie gives advices and is direct but very sincere regarding dog handling. The whole team is dedicated to help rescued dogs and I can only recommend.
