H&R Block

You go to H&R block because you want the best and that is what I experienced. Our tax agent was friendly, and able to serve me and mother in a timely manner. You could tell that she had our best interest at heart as she was serving us.

I had such a fantastic experience filing both Canadian and US taxes with Ms. Xin Wang. She was very professional, knowledgeable, kind, and helpful and made me feel much better about a somewhat complicated situation. Thank you!

Im bilingual and I wasn't able to be served in French and/or (good) english. I couldn't understand, it was very hard to receive the information. I called first to ask about the price since Im a student and wasnt given the correct information, resulting in me taking an appointment on April 23 and receiving a call on May 11 telling my the price would be 260 (not what I was told in the beginning). Wasnt even able to understand clearly anything about my tax report because of the langage barrier. Result: Im taking my papers back and will be doing my taxes elsewhere. Very bad service. Very disapointed, H&R Block lost a customer.

TL;DR: Tax processing was slow, but final results and AMAZING customer service gave me a great overall experience. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT TAXES COME HERE, they will do your taxes properly and with a smile.FULL REVIEW: Catherine was great very amicable, knowledgeable, and helpful. She stayed after closing to help my wife and I with my taxes. Then, Syeda did our taxes. She was very patient, clear, and smart when she contacted me and helped me out with all my tax questions and to get the best refund I could. Seriously, great job. Finally, the manager, who's name I do not know, went above and beyond her job by assisting us even after their closing time which was extremely kind on her end. They made my tax experience great. The taxes took a lot of time to process as there was a big demand, but even considering that the level of professionalism, knowledge, and overall INCREDIBLE customer service, has made this particular H&R Block my go to place for all of my tax needs.

Where to start, over the past three years I had taken to myself to do our tax declaration, family wise, have not had a problem, though this year due to the pandemic, CERB and CRB benefits, and our startups having first cash flow movements, we decided to take on the services of H&R Block, on hindsight, big mistake.Where did our problems start... upon document reception, something that should have been crystal clear and easy turned to something complicated and not very straight forward, evidently as small business owners we have a registered BN, and kept our personal and corporate tax declarations separate, so, when I handed the documentation to the tax specialist" I made a point to that effect

I saw the bad reviews but decided to ignore it. Staff who looked at my case was unfriendly & not nice at all. If you work in a place where you deal with customers you have to have customer skills. Otherwise find another position. Decided to go elsewhere.

Currently here now actually ! The front guy at the desk who’s name I don’t bother asking because I walked in originally @5 & he quickly dismissed me politely saying he’s of no help & I have to come back @8pm for Xin wang to assist me.Am here now with another guy he scheduled @8 am sure he walked before me was also dismissed & told to come back later!Very unprofessional he doesn’t seem to have a very good work ethic as I watch him now & observe…. Very dissatisfied & disappointed.

So far the experiences with the team operating out of this SherbrookeSt. W location are doing a lot of things right. I feel right at home with them, they are very knowledgeable in their field of work. An agent I had the pleasure of working with there painted me a picture of this tax group or at least a picture of what agent interactions with H&R Block might be like moving forward. This particular agent being assertive in assuring that the needs I have for their services, can be met, was personable and direct so I didn't feel like my time was poorly spent or wasted. Had the ability to connect with me and make me feel like less of a customer and rather more of a friend helping me get what I need done.If I was to recommend a tax preparation group or agent I would quickly recommend this group or the agent I worked with, based on my personal experiences.Best regards,J.F.

The worst H&R location, our advisor didn't explain anything, he could barely communicate in English or French. Very frustrating to pay $200 to get zero advise, non-existing customer service and on top of all that, they took forever to file my taxes because the person working on my return only worked during the weekend.... Poor management! I will never return to H&R Block period.
