Hickory Dickory Decks

These guys constructed a pergola in my back yard which looks like the leaning tower of Pisa. If you’re looking for a free standing structure I do not recommend these guys. The posts were 2x 4’s mounted on flimsy aluminum brackets, built out and cladded to give the look of a heavy solid post. I have brought this issue up with them a number of times and they stopped returning my messages. This structure will collapse at some point as it is swaying in heavy wind. Very disappointed as I have to look at this structure everyday and cannot enjoy it.

Just after the Covid lockdown eased, Rob Hendriks and Mitch built my new deck, they were very efficient and professional. It wasn't the most elaborate deck they have built, but every aspect of the design and build were completed with care and constant consultation to make sure it was what I wanted. The new deck and landscaping will be enjoyed for years.

We couldn't be more happier with our deck! Hughes and the boys went above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend hiring them, you won't be disappointed!

Meant today get to this earlier. We were recommended Jonathan by our landscaper who did all the hard scape work in our backyard. They have worked together for over twenty years. We couldn’t be happier with the final product. We hired Jonathan and team to build a small walk out deck from our home to get to grade and a large 16x12 pavilion.Jeff was the primary builder and he did an amazing job. Pavilion was our design and the executed it perfectly. Actually even better then we imagined. All the joints are tight and clean. Pictures speak for themselves.Like any project there were challenges that came up but Jonathan and team stepped up helped work through them. And that’s what you want.Don’t hesitate and just hire them. Even if you have to wait to get them

We are in our 3rd year of enjoying our Hickory Dickory Decks deck. It has become our 6 month of the year main living space in our city home. It our little bit of paradise to come to and relax. It was perfectly designed by HDD with our every day use and regular entertaining in mind adding the granite bar and lots of room on the top deck. With the awning added last year, we use it almost every day, rain or shine. We watch most Jays games out there with a big screen. Thanks Tom and Team. You guys were great to work with.

Well the installation of my deck when I renovated my house was great, and using a composite with a lifetime guarantee as recommended by the Sales Manager seemed like the right decision at the time.The problem was that the manufacturer went out of business and when the deck floor began coming apart at the seams and warping I contacted the Company (Hickory Dickory Decks).No one came out although I was told that I would be contacted. I was not.Take care who you use to build your deck as I cannot believe that a Company who guarantees the quality of the product they supply will not stand behind that guarantee.Here are some pictures of what the deck now looks like.James

Just wanted you to know we absolutely love our new backyard! What a transformation.We are so glad we chose Hickory Dickory Decks.Jeremy and Chris were amazing! They are both very professional, dedicated and hard working. There were a couple of days I was actually surprised they were here due to the weather. Jeremy made sure we touched base with each other every day to ensure we were happy with the progress. At the end of every day he always asked if I had any questions. Before leaving for the day they made sure everything was cleaned up and never left a mess (I have heard that some contractors don't clean up after themselves). I really appreciated Jeremy's input throughout the project. He brought up ideas and suggestions we would never have thought of that improved on what we had originally designed - the step leading onto the patio running the length of the deck makes it so much easier for people transitioning from the dining area to the stone patio, the eavestrough on the pavilion. If we weren't sure what decision to make, Jeremy was great; giving us the pros and cons and walking us through to make sure we made the decision that was best for us. Chris was here early every single morning and sometimes didn't leave until it started getting dark.The quality, timing and workmanship throughout the complete project was very impressive. From our first visit with you to go over planning and design to the finished project, everything happened on schedule and as planned. You and your team walked us through and held our hand from start to finish. Being first timers at this we were expecting some hiccups, delays and surprises; the surprise we got was that there weren't any. We couldn't have picked a better company to make our backyard dreams come true.We asked for maintenance free, something that would last, and wanted the best backyard on the street - you delivered! Having seen the quality and workmanship that was put into the project, I know we will be enjoying our deck for many, many, many years to come.We had a few (what started out as 4 and turned out to be 17) people over to open our new backyard and received nothing but the best of compliments. I think WOW was the first word from everyone! Apparently our neighbours are going to spend every summer in our backyard - maybe you did too good a job!I really can't say enough about the professionalism and quality that your company provides, or about how happy we are to have the backyard we have been dreaming of.

We had our new composite deck installed in the spring, and are very satisfied with the deck! It looks and feels great, and the recommendations from staff at the early design stage as well as during construction were very helpful. The team was customer friendly and worked with us on scheduling the project. The crew was friendly and happy to answer any questions we had, and were accommodative as another project/contractor in their immediate work area overlapped their schedule. The project took longer then was initially communicated, but was still done in a little over 2 weeks. Very happy with the deck!
