Always love going to see my mum!

My mum lives there, it's close to home and staff seems nice. She's a new resident.

I want to say first off I recognize the challenges associated with COVID, however this is no excuse for poor elder care.My father was admitted to St Michaels at the end of January. He suffers from Alzheimer’s/Dementia. He likes to keep busy however due to COVid he was quarantined to his room for 14 days. As he does not understand everything that’s going on he was trying to get out of his room and a had caught a nurse off guard and lightly hit her.After his quarantine was up he was put into a shared room. There was an incident that no one can explain what really happened however my father was pinned as the aggressor.We have received numerous calls from staff saying he wanders too much and into other peoples rooms and he wants to eat crayons. I understand that it’s a problem but if family was allowed in perhaps they could have countered those urges. Is there is no staff to correct him or keep him busy with activities? Wandering has caused him to be accused of causing disturbances. They have said he hits people but no one really sees it.They complain that he steals other peoples food however when my Mom was finally allowed in she seen they barely gave him any food. She requested to have his portions increased.Right from the beginning it seems they didn’t really want him. Are there no cameras to catch these incidents? I am seriously doubtful that things occurred as they described as he had no issues at the Glenrose prior to him being placed at St Michaels.We had to request to give him a haircut and to cut his nails. Even though we needed to provide funds for this in advance. The pedicure he received has caused his feet to be infected. That was $50! Well spent.So now he sits in the ER in Misercordia. He was told he is not welcomed back to St Michaels. He is not allowed family in the ER as there is a COVID outbreak. Do we have a scared senior with a Disability sitting in an ER unable to advocate for himself. Be prepared seniors and others, this will be your future too!

I myself work in the Day Support program of St. Michael's. I feel privileged to work with the people I do. They show kindness and care always. The people who attend this program have thanked the team and our manager for the great things they get to do. Everyday is fun.

I've known the staff at St. Michael's Care Centre for years now and I've walked through the whole building and I can vouch when I type that not only are the staff amazing, but the seniors get the care they need. I had a family member who worked there and the positivity people bring there is fantastic. You really feel welcomed and if I were an elder hair white as snow I know I myself would be able to trust the care of St. Michaels. They're great, they really are. 5 stars! Also the senior activities and events that go on there are an even greater blessing.I'm personally glad to be acquainted with them and when I was younger I was a summer student doing some outdoor tasks. They maintain their dominion very well, and I highly respect everything they do.

These facilities are necessary to assist with the care of our seniors. Difficult to give a proper sharing of personal experience.

My Grandma made the transition off the waitlist to LTC here during the pandemic approx 1yr ago. Staff has been nothing short of patient and kind. She has been overall less agitated and much more peaceful since her arrival. Even with her alzheimers progression. Thank you to all staff at St.Michaels!

The facility is very warm and inviting. They have some great amenities. Parking is limited. I cannot soeak yet to care peovidrd because we only toured the facility.

Beautiful hall, nice open space, staff is super friendly and professional, food was AMAZING. Not one single problem.

Wonderful home for the elderly. caring staff that are like family to the residents. Super clean. Atmosphere is very calm and friendly.
