Dr. Alan Kwong Hing | Sudbury Smiles Dentistry

When i called smiles 3 weeks prior to my appointment to confirm if they received my dental xrays by email from college boreal they said they had received it albeit were unable to open the file and told me they would call the college to ask how to open the file if they were not able to figure it out. On my first call to smile i asked if they accepted Ontario Works as payment then appointment day they denied ever having received my xrays and insisted on taking xrays, obviously to be able to bill OW then Hing tells me i need a root canal that i would have to pay more than $600 for . In a nutshell staff is trained to lie and deceive to help the so called Dr extract as much $ as possible even if only for xrays and consultation. Bottom line his only concern is his bottom line !

Dr. Alan Kwong has been an amazing dentist .To be honest ..reading some of the reviews I was a little skeptical. However I've never met someone so caring and thoughtful. Dr. Kwong did work on my mouth numerous times so far , dealt with my anxiety by communicating every step he was doing. His staff are thoughtful and understanding. Everyone is very professional. They even fit me in when I needed emergency work done. Dr. Kwongs pricing on dental work is acceptable and accurate. He even checked up on me personally days after getting surgery done. He's a genuine dentist. Thank you for taking care of me , and understanding my needs. 5 stars !

I was recommended to this dentist when I needed an emergency tooth removal done by the on call dentist for after hours and social assistance/ODSP covered emergency work and I can honestly say I have never had a bad dentist but now I have the best dentist I will ever have no questions asked.The office is very professional, the staff amazing and I can only speak for my dentist but the overall reviews are well above average so I am pretty sure the other surgeons are equally skilled and is one of the few offices that is more then happy to accept social assistance/ODSP coverage which most dentist offices refuse because it does not pay as much.This is an office that does truly care about people, peoples health and keeping people pain free.

Dr Al,I want everyone to know that your #1 ,my word I've been struggling for a long time and have seen my share of dentist in my 59 years , but none of them really tried to help me , until 1 day I decided to give it 1 more shot and make a appointment ,man I'm I ever happy I did ,I thought for sure I'd have to get the rest of my teeth pulled, but he saved them all straight and stronger than ever, and he took his time to make me the best set of dentures I can get all done at the same place and the cost was amazing so if you are on disability or welfare or simply need a new dentist,Dr Alan is the one who will take care of all your dental needs including dentures you really did give my smile back,a big thank you for me

I don’t even know where to start. Alan Kwong Hing is a absolutely terrible dentist. If you disagree then you have not been to very many others or all you got was a simple cleaning.I have seen close to 10 different dentist over my lifetime from different places I have lived and I have never seen such a terrible dentist in my life.He did more worse than good. I had dental implants put in about 8 months ago from him and over 6 of my implants are loose and they twist. These are supposed to be good for life. I tried to take my Harley for a ride this spring but I can’t because my implants hurt and vibrate way to much.I booked an appointment to show him and he said it’s normal for the first year or two. A friend of mine has gotten implants as well and said he never had one issue and it’s like they are his normal teeth. Mine rattle against each other, twist and hurt.I have seen another REAL dentist since then and I am now perfectly fine 1 month afterwards. I’m eating hard foods again as well. Thank you to all the real dentist out there.Stay AWAY from Alan.

I went for x-rays and a cleaning when I was 16 and next thing I knew I was getting my wisdom teeth removed that weren’t causing pain and were still inside my jaw. They had to drill in to retirieve them and I got a serious infection that lasted a month after. Not only that, they used a medication on me that was supposed to keep me conscious but I wouldn’t remember the procedure. Half way through, I “woke up” and I remember the full pain of drilling. They also put a mask over my eyes which freaked me out even more. I went to another dentist after that who told me based on the x-rays I didn’t need to get them out at all and when I tried to describe the medication to multiple dental professionals, nobody was able to tell me what it was. It left me high and sick for the rest of the day. I was bed-ridden from this procedure for almost 3 weeks. Next, they told me I needed a wire guard and it was payed for but never made. On top of that, the two teeth they didn’t remove, they said they would refer me to someone who would put me to sleep for the procedure and finish the extractions and I was never referred. 6 years later, I have pockets behind my molars that never healed properly and are constantly getting infected from food stuck and bacteria build up that I just can’t take out with tools at home. This experience traumatized me for years. I will never go back there and I can’t in good conscience recommend this dentist.

Dr. Al is wonderful with my daughter Judith! He explains what he's doing as he does it. Which helps both of us to understand and calms her fears. I am so thankful for Dr. Alan Kwong. He sees our whole family...extended family as well. Thanks Dr. Al!!

One of the horrible and worst experiences ever I had. I went to fix my dental crown which came out recently. The crown was good and made by my family doctor from India. I visited this clinic and the doctor who consulted me there behaved like inexperienced person. I was experiencing a hard time chewing food without the crown. I explained all my concerns to the doctor, and he said as I am pregnant, they can’t fix it permanently. I said OKAY, that’s fine for me.At the time of the first visit, they said “wow this crown seems really natural and appreciated the doctors who did this”. But after that I realized, he even doesn’t know what kind of material is used to make that teeth. I was shocked.The doctor put an excess amount of gluing material without even cleaning the inner parts of the crown. Then I realized, the crown was not fixed properly. So immediately within days, I went back there, and the staff fixed the teeth by grinding almost all the material in the crown (Another grinding can crack the crown easily now). After 1 month, the crown came out again and I went there to fix it. He said it’s not able to be fixed as the crown thickness is now too small and there is a chance of a break, and he just blames my previous doctor who made the crown.I decided to not do anything from that clinic after that. I went to another clinic they did a great job without harming the crown and they were surprised about the doctor who had done this before( That much damage in the crown,almost ruined it).

The dentist did a hack job on my front teeth. I called back to get it fixed and was told I will have to pay for it. Wouldn't trust them with my smile again.
