Granville Hall Student Residence

Great location.Checking in was interesting; the website said there would be staff members there 10-4. Also, the sign on the door said the same, only to discover no staff and self check in.Rooms were clean, dormitory style.

We went there for just one night, booked online.This is a very quiet space, with perfectly modern shared amenities (fully furnished kitchen, lounge with Netflix, cardboard games, ...)Bathroom are shared between a few rooms but are absolutely spotless.All of it for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this hostel for your stay!

While having been through some housing issues, I found Granville Hall Residence at the last minute to move out of my previous place. All the staff were super kind, quickly responsive, and helpful in finding the most comfortable home for me. I really appreciate it.I have been staying at Hotel Halifax for three months, which is one of the hotels in HRM that Granville Hall offers for student housing during academic years, and the stay here is very comfortable with satisfactory hotel services. The location is also very convenient for everything because the building is connected to Scotia Square, which is walking distance to everything and located right next to the Duke St. bus terminal. I will miss staying here:)

I stayed at Granville Hall for 4 months and it has been a great experience! As an international student it can be hard to find off-campus housing in Halifax, but Granville Hall is definitely a great option! It's located in the downtown area. It's close to the waterfront, a lot of restaurants, and the bus stop that connects to anywhere in Halifax. The place is big and clean, kitchen is fully equipped, as well as the bed room, and they even provide bath towels. It has a great lounge to watch movies or play games.The director and residence coordinator are both really nice and try to do everything to accommodate you in the best way possible. They organized fun trips, parties and other activities for the residents.I really enjoyed staying at Granville Hall!

Affordable, Centralized location to downtown Halifax. Rooms are what you would expect for student dorms. Share bathrooms are clean/ maintained. I would recommend this for solo travellers.

Been living here for 8 months, I feel this is the best student Residence you can get in Halifax and its right in downtown. Very close to the waterfront and all the bars. Accessible to all the primary bus roots and the ferry terminal. The residence is immaculate and luxurious. All the essential amenities and furniture is provided, the kitchens are fully equipped and the best part is your room is cleaned every week. The exciting part is that you meet people from all over the world and the vibe is really nice. Also, it is fun to have Awesome party's since the place is huge, and the coordinator here is an excellent person. I highly recommend this place if you wanna have a feel for Halifax life and culture.

We had a minor challenge getting in when we first arrived but nothing too crazy. The hallways and common areas are spotlessly clean, and so are the rooms. The location cannot be beat, and the cleaning staff are super nice. What a great find!

A nice room, the price is very fair (more so because of the utilities, like full kitchen). Amazing option for travelling student (or any single)

This is a great alternative when you need to stay in city for a few days - street parking is free from 6 pm - 8 am; access to a well-appointed kitchen, spaces are quiet and clean. The sitting room is large with comfy chairs and a tv. Bed comfortable and room large enough, and option to have a mini-fridge in your room. Would use again!
