I have been working with Cal at Moore McDermott & Partners for over 8 years and have been throughly impressed. His attention to detail and ability to strategize is incredible. I would highly recommend Cal and his firm.

I filed my taxes with them for two years and I had to file a couple of extra forms. It was only until a month later that I received a large bill from this firm for that one form without them even mentioning that there might be extra charges involved with filing that form, let alone it's gonna be that much.I wrote to the accountant asking for clarification and they didn't even respond. While I was waiting to get some form of answer from this firm, they started charging interest on my bill. Great!This was the worst accounting experience I could ever think of. They work like a money grabbing scheme company rather than a professional firm. Just avoid them and find someplace else.

I called the waterloo office to inquire about submitting my tax return and what the cost would be. After several phone calls and emails to the office trying to figure out the overly complicated submission process they have, i submitted my documents. Shortly after i recieved an invoice for nearly $100 higher than what the admin staff at the office had quoted me with no explaination of the additional cost. Had i been told the amount i was going to be billed i would have had my taxes completed elsewhere. Extremely expensive, especially considering the poor customer service i recieved.

My accountant joined this firm so I was forced into dealing with them in a sense. This year for filing one T3 return for a company that had no activity in it for the year - I got a bill for $906.83. Nobody even contacted me to meet or talk about anything, go over paperwork, nothing. When questioned I'm told their pricing structure is national and there are minimums - accounts are not priced individually based on what you actually need done. What a great policy, eh? This company certainly seems to care about big accounts - not the little guy.Edit **Now I've been threatened to be sued over this review.
