Goobie Bark Park
Recently renovated and looking great.Bathrooms are clean, gas station staff are friendly and it looks and feels like any other Irving.I no longer recommend the restaurant however, it's very generic, underseasoned food. Even things that are claimed to be homemade aren't great. Food aside, the new restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the reno was much needed and is much welcomed. All and all, great place to stop on the way to st johns or if you're going the opposite way, as for eating... wait till you're in Clarenville or St Johns.

Our first time stopping there for supper. It was very busy when we arrived but we were acknowledged shortly after. We then waited about five minutes before another waitress showed us to our table. We ordered soup and a cold plate (special of the day). I got my cold plate about 10 to 15 minutes after my friend got his soup. The waitress was courteous but not overly friendly. Had to ask if a role came with the cold plate that I had already waited about 45 minutes to receive. The waitress did not apologize for the wait or for not bringing a role with my meal. She did, however, go get the role and bring back to me once I had asked about it.Overall, it was not a good experience. Long wait times and meals were not served together in a timely manner.

I travel a lot for work so I have to go here with my dog about 4 times a month minimum and the big transport trucks r always parked right up to the dog park gate so I can barely get in or I'm inhaling a lot of fumes trying! I called the store and they told me that's too bad for me since this is a truck stop restaurant and gas bar and not really meant for general public like me and that the truckers have priority here. anyway.....true story....couldn't believe it.....

Stopped here at 12 midnight while on transport truck with my husband thought we would get something to eat since we never had a chance all day. Knew the restaurant wasn’t open but being a big stop we thought that at least we would get a hot dog but there wasn’t a thing there. Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought that that was the point of having hotdogs and such at a place like that was when there isn’t any where else to get something to eat you had the option to at least get a hotdog.

Ate there a couple of weeks ago . We had a hot Turkey and a hot roast beef dinner to go. If we were not on the road and closer or had eaten it there I certainly would have sent it back. There was no taste to it whatsoever and those crinkle fries was garbage , plus the side of carrot was cooked to mush. Only thing tasty was the salt we added. Needless to say it all went in the garage at the cost of over $30.00... shame on the cook for serving such disgusting meals. Also the bread you are selling is not fit for people consumption. Suppose to be raisin bread but only about eight raisins to be seen in the whole loaf and the white bread was worse very very dry...yuck yuck. Will never eat at Irving again , as a matter of fact any Irving. Had far too many bad experiences , not only in Goobie’s but in all the Irving restaurants .

First time I've been back here since the Reno. Looks lovely. Lots of artwork, nice combination of wood and stone in the decor, nice color scheme. Waitresses were friendly.

Was very grateful to find this bark park before we started down the Burin Peninsula. It was perfect to let our pooch get out some energy after leaving from St. John's. It doesn't have the double gate like most dog parks, so you need to be careful when other dogs enter.

Looks to be newly renovated. It is extremely well done. Massive selection of drinks and a better beer room than many NLC stores. They have an interesting product called a Froster, which is a slushy drink made from various name Pepsi products. Worth trying. It get very busy at Goobies in the summertime, so the parking lot can be a bit of a gong show, but it’s great stop if the crowds aren’t to bad. Just be careful pulling out into traffic on the Trans Canada Highway, vehicles are coming very fast, so no rolling stops! Take your time an make sure it’s safe to proceed. I’ve seen a few near misses there.

Also writing this review as I’m sitting here still waiting for my water. Asked for nachos on the menu and 10 mins later they came to tell us there’s no nachos. I order fish tacos and they were cod nuggets inside the tacos, which wasn’t very appetizing. My husbands chicken tasted spongy.Tried to talk to the manager and he’s in a conference call. Go figure.

Food was just okay, service was not good. Must have been an off day all around cause the place was nearly empty but we still waited 45 minutes for a breakfast, a burger and chicken fingers. Asked for coffee on arrival, never saw waitress again till she returned with our order, did not even get a glass of water or coffee refill. She was just unfriendly and uninterested. Disappointing, won’t be returning to this Big Stop.
