We ordered a sushi & appetizers for 4 to takeout. Service was quick, prices very comparable to standard sushi restaurants we frequent in North Vancouver, and sashimi was fresh. Restaurant was full (we were in around 7pm on the Good Friday) which was promising. Would definitely come back if we were in the area!

I’ve made this a must-go for my travels along the Sunshine Coast. The staff are very friendly and the food is great; they use sockeye salmon for their sashimi and nigiri sushi pieces!Be advised that you place your order at the counter and pay ahead. The staff will also assign you a table.I recommend a bento box set as there’s a variety of sides to go along with your preferred main course.

Food is usually good, 2nd best sushi on the coast (after Nagomi). Service unreliable. Waited standing for 20 minutes to order and was then refused service (takeout or dine-in) because they were closing in 45 minutes. Said they didn’t see me…standing in front of the till. I’m being generous with two stars because I get everyone is stressed, short staffed and doing their best but it’s just terrible service.

We purchase from Mama's Japanese Kitchen often and the food is always enjoyable. My suggestions would be to make the rolls a little bigger (they are quite small compared to sushi restaurants in Sechelt and Vancouver) and add Nigiri to the menu. Otherwise very good and we're happy to have a local sushi restaurant so far up the coast!

They asked if I could pay before I had dine in service .. and had to fill my own water. The food was okay, not the best if you're really into sushi. Chicken teriyaki & the sushi in the photo was the dynamite roll.

This place kind of surprised me since I expected so much more based on the previous ratings.Prices about equivalent as big cities as Vancouver, but still get less than them. Sushi could be better. O Canada special roll not really special for its price (one of most expensive). Gyoza just ok.Bento box was kind of rediculous. First, you get slices of chicken which would assemble to bring less than a quarter of a breast. Second, the California roll didn't have much crab. Usually the artificial crab shredded and mixed with mayo for the filling whereas this one had a small crab stick (can hardly see it in my photo). Finally, their special appetizer" is a small spring roll (probably store bought) with raw bean sprouts.Staff member friendly

This restaurant is such a gem. We came here cuz we felt hungry after finishing the Francis Point Lighthouse trail and didn’t expect much, but the food here and its quality surprised us. We had such a satisfying meal. The ingredients were very fresh, each dishes were nicely presented and delicious. Loved everything we had! The service was also very welcoming and attentive, thanks so much :)
