I stayed in the fairview campus the class sizes were small the teachers were excellent but the lady who runs the dorms rose" is rude and unreasonable! The checkout time was noon on the same day I had to write my government exam! This lady insisted I spend the night before the test packing rather than studying! I dont know how she even still has a job! she adds immense stress to the students at a critical time in the education that they paid dearly for! The dorm is a dump and the beds are the same ones they use at the peace river correctional facility!"

First year here in the apprenticeship program, and I’m impressed with what the college offers- I’ve gone to bigger institutions in the past, who didn’t offer as much (or make us aware of it anyway)! Lots of seating throughout the campus to have study groups, solo study, eat your lunch or just relax between classes. Fitness facility is decent, too! There is a Tim Hortons on site, and the campus is regularly monitored by security, so I feel safe locking my bike up all day. The buses also stop right in front of campus, and there’s lots of amenities across the street. The instructors and faculty are all obviously passionate about what they do, and the smaller class sizes leaves room for more 1:1 attention.

I feel like I made a great decision choosing Grande Prairie Regional for college. The small class sizes really aided my learning, and I felt like I received special attention. The professors were excellent in all regards. Campus life was very exciting and fun with lots of activities to do all the time.

The counselors, academic advisers and the rest of the Student Development Department were very informed and really cared. They allowed us to learn, experiment (and sometimes fail) in a supportive environment

We were very happy to find a local institution who offered the Class 1 Melt Experience and Equivalency course. The fact that it could be completed within a week was a bonus. However, on day 3 of the course the student contacted me about the issues he was having; they had to put his training on hold for 2 days due to 3 out of the 4 trucks being broken down. When I contacted the college about it, they said there was nothing that could be done, and rescheduled his remaining days over a couple of weeks. As this student was traveling 3 hours one way to get there this was not a small thing. Instead of the student traveling a total of 12 hours (there and back for the course, and a separate trip for his exam), he ended up traveling a total of 24 hours (there and back 3 times to complete training, and an additional trip for his exam). There was no relief offered from the college for the inconvenience caused by them. The student said the course instructors were good, and ultimately he did receive his class 1 license, but with the truck breakdowns it made for a disorganized schedule. Have since found a different facility to put the remainder of our employees through the course.

So far this year (2014) GPRC has been the worst year for disorganization, lack of accountability and unprofessionalism I've ever seen since starting at the college in 2008. Callege's are a business, they are there to make money, I understand that. But because local students have no other choice but to attend this facility if they want training gives you all the power to treat them as wish? I believe the Student Centred" motto they are stating everywhere is not being practiced. However

In 1986, I returned to college after an 8 year hiatus; nervous as heck! I was enrolled in a pre-professional" program with hopes of getting into to very competitive Rehab Medicine Faculty at the UofA the following year. I was a young
