The food was good, however this was the worst service Ive received in my life. Ive never left a negative review before but this, i had to share. First the owner hangs up on me when I call to ask if they are open. We get there, everything was rushed and the server was extremely rude. He ripped the paper from underneath my hand and almost gave me a paper cut. Even when we would say thank you he wouldnt respond. Naturally, I hesitated even giving him a tip but i left a small one any way. I forgot my bag in the restaurant so i came back to get it. When i arrived and asked if he saw it, he hesitated almost as if he was debating whether he should give me my bad. He was rolling his eyes and had soo much attitude so I asked if everything was okay. Then he looked at me and said, 2.50 $ TIP??? I told him that he was rude which is why i didnt leave a bigger tip. All in all, i was shocked and needless to say i will never go back. Goodluck dealing with this guy. Wish them all the best.

Amazing sushi and other Japanese specialties. This is a Montreal landmark with the same founder-owner for decades. It was delightful to meet her. We can't wait to return.

Traditional and authentic Japanese restaurant.I've ordered the evening sushi sashimi set dinner. The food and service were both very good.However, on the menu it says 6 pieces of sashimi, but it was actually 3 pieces but cut in half to make 6. Very dishonest and insincere business owners... Very unfortunate.

I used to come here regularly with my family when I was a kid. Sakura (Real!! Japanese restaurant) never deceives. Food is fresh, good portion (we ordered bento/ combo boxes) and price is very reasonable.

We got take out sushi, it was excellent. We're from Vancouver and we know good sushi, this one is excellent. Quick and courteous service. The place itself isn't much to look at, but it's a hidden gem I'd say :) Thank you for a delicious meal!

We used to come here every week ! Now that we have moved, we can't come so often ... So yesterday, was a fantastic experience. The food is so fresh and tasty ! And great reception from the owner ! A super lady...Un restaurant où il faut aller, si on aime les plats frais et délicats ! Une expérience formidable.

I'm a Japanese-American from California. I like to try sukiyaki wherever I go and I'm picky about what's good. The sukiyaki here is about the best I've had since my mother passed. The broth is slightly sweet and that makes everything in it taste great. The tempura was excellent too. Try it!

Very good atmosphere. The food was of good quality. I loved their sukiyaki has the ingredients were fresh and taste on point.Most surprisingly, they had one of the best rice I’ve ever eaten, and considering my origin, it says something!Service was good, although not the fastest. But you have to be understanding as all the server (that I’ve seen), were older Japanese ladies, which gave this place a bit more authenticity appeal. But also slows down the speed.As for price, I would say it’s on the pricier side, for the food that you’re eating. I would say that a reduction in price of about 10% would be great.

Authentic japanese food. No fusion stuff which is great. Service was good. So happy they’re still open after so many years. I’m not sure why some people think they are overpriced, I think the prices are really good.
