Monkey Around Play & Learn Centre

We just had my son's 4th birthday party at Monkey Around . All the kids had a blast and all the parents seemed happy as well. It was so nice to have everything taken care of for us. It was the first time that I actually got to enjoy one of his parties instead of just working through it. We were very happy with the host, food and party room. I would definitely recommend.

I went there on a Sunday morning with my 1.5 year old daughter. Super friendly service and the play areas look fantastic... Except for a toddler. They do have a baby area but I do feel the baby area is more geared towards younger. At least for my daughter. There was no large play area with balls and whatnot so she could just run around. But definitely looking forward to coming back when she is older.

I brought my kids here for the first time in a while. I wanted to sit at a table, but it’s hard to find a table that doesn’t have crumbs or leftover food all over it. Dirty. My daughter wanted a BLT but they had no bacon left so we ordered a grilled cheese. Then they told me the loaf of bread was frozen so they said someone would go next door to get a fresh loaf. They were obviously lying because when I went back to the window to ask them to clean one of the tables, I caught the manager crouched down by the floor (where the microwave is) with 2 frozen slices of bread between her hands squeezing them trying to thaw them out! What a terrible decision to lie to a paying customer and then use your bare hands to thaw the bread. Total TURN OFF. I asked for a refund.How gross and utterly disrespectful. The truth would’ve been good enough for me. The lying is why I will never come back. DO NOT EAT HERE.

took my 17month old here and he loved it! he liked the baby/toddler section and also ventured into the big kid climber and wouldn't stop smiling! we look forward to coming many more times in future! it is also great that parents are free! an economical and fun outing!

Not impressed with this place.3 years ago we had my daughters 2nd birthday and it was amazing so for her 5th birthday we decided to do it again. Since they changed owners this place has gone down. We got there are room wasn’t ready. No decorations when I paid for decorations. They gave us old balloons like Halloween ones when it was for a birthday party. The place was filthy as well. Garbage on the floor and the bathroom was just horrendous.Not too mention the adults got pop and it was warm. No ice nothing. And they didn’t even have cream for coffee. For the price we paid I was expecting a lot better. they even took out all the games that you can win tickets to get prizes. Yet they still advertise that they do. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We have been going to Monkey Around since it first opened! Our kids loved being able to go close to home and enjoy a play place, particularly on rainy or hot days!! It was small enough that I could comfortably enjoy myself at a table and watch all 5 (at the time) kids doing various activities! Those guys are teens now and don’t go so much but my 8 and 2 year old love it! I can’t drive by without being begged to go in. My 8 year old loves roller skating! She has also done some summer camps and enjoyed the activities and meeting new friends. My 2 year old loves the bouncy pillow and climbing everywhere, and he can safely do that without me HAVING to be right behind him!

Really nice place for children. Really helpful staff. Five stars staff and team there. Definitely coming back

The layout of the place was good, but they are extremely militant about any sort of food. They even confronted my 3 year old daughter because they thought we brought it in when we had in fact purchased it there. Obviously a staff member demanding that of a child made her very upset and she started to cry.They then approached someone seated next to us who had brought food for his gluten allergic kid and told him to throw it out or be told to leave.I saw some signs telling everyone about how they would have to pay more because minimum wage was going up. I believe I spoke to the owner to suggest that it might not be a positive message to customers and she flatly said it is not like employees deserve minimum wage anyway"Given the negative experience with this place

The center was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Today was our first time there, we will definitely be going back. Adults are free unlike Cosmic Adventures, and the food prices are decent and not super jacked up. Edit: Yes they are adamant on no outdoor foods (as are other play places) it is nothing new

Great time & fantastic birthday party! I recommend and would go again. Well organized and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I liked that the cost included food & loot bags, and nice extras like help keeping presents in the back room, arcade tokens, custom cake patterns, extra food for adults could be added to cost, and a gift for the birthday kid. Extra adults are FREE (so 1 parent/kid plus the grandparents could come) which is RARE in Ottawa. Very helpful and thoughtful staff. Food was good, place was clean. Thanks SO much!Our birthday was a rainy Sunday morning and that was a perfect time, not too busy. Other commenters mentioned arcades and food is pricey - for me this is a given, it's the same at movie theatres, and here it was just as good or better than competitors.
