It's hard to rate a place that saved your life when you don't have anything similar to compare it to, but I can't say anything bad about my experience here. Every doctor and nurse was attentive, friendly, and made me feel safe. I never once doubted they were doing everything they could to take care of me as best that they could and get me through my ordeal.

I have a loved one whose partner passed away a few years ago from this post. And when I was helping my loved one go through belongings of their passed partner the Misericordia packed the breathing equipment from the patients stay (my loved ones deceased partner). I can’t believe that your staff would actually pack the breathing tubes and that given the circumstances how the person died the logic to pack that. My loved one hasn’t been able to let go of their belongings and we just saw the breathing equipment. My loved one was in shock and started crying I had to grab the breathing tubes and equipment and throw it out. It is already tragic how my loved one partner died in your care it is another to actually pack the breathing tubes. I understand that our healthcare system is having it challenges but this is completely unacceptable

Unit 5W, you are brimming with amazing staff (though perhaps a tad crazed for their hometown Oilers), like Ada a lovely human being, filled with compassion and good cheer. To find a smile to share, with all the cuts to health spending in this province, but the staff were able to do it time and again. The 5W Unit Clerk, you were there for me with good cheer despite the sheer volume of work that has been heaped up on your plate. It is noticed, and it is appreciated. So many unsung sweet souls. You made me smile time and again as I was doing my post-operative laps around the unit, and trying to not trip over my clumsy feet.Thank you.

I would give this hospital 0 stars if I could. The nurses in ER are all rude. AHS tell you to hit emergency after surgery if you have pain then wanna make you sit for hours on end, meanwhile you could have a clot and be dying. All they say is discuss it with the surgeon. If you can avoid coming here I would.

Had to go to the ER last night for a variety of symptoms. Once seen and put into a room (which definitely varies based on what level of emergency you are having, but for me was very quick) a super sweet nurse named Joanne helped tend to me. She was wearing lime green scrubs and was very understanding of both my aversion to needles and of the fact that I am transgender. She was incredibly kind. All of the staff was very helpful and nice as well. The wait times are probably the only issue I have had with this ER, but knowing the triage system works makes me feel better about those having worse emergencies getting the care they need quickly.

So I have been to this hospital multiple times throughout the years (usually not by choice). Sometimes having to stay here for long periods of time. I have met some very lovely caring, genuine staff and patients. But like any situation you get good and bad.Today I have been in emergency for hours (as expected ITS EMERGE!).I watched a lady come in via ambulance with her service dog. She was briefly check out and sent on her way...She started chatting with me and explained she is extremely visually impaired as well as epileptic, chatting about dogs and so on. We continued to talk while she waited for her cab that staff had called for her. The cab came they didn't not take her due to service dog.. sooo staff just dropped the mic and let her wander outside alone, disoriented and clearly in no safe state to do so.I walked out to go have a smoke, call her a cab and wait with her until she was on her way safely. We continued to talk and she went into a full seizure so I immediately grabbed her and helped her to the ground.A paramedic saw and helped as the seizure continued.Meanwhile my husband is sitting inside next to triage nurse who is informed this lady had another seizure outside. Her disqusting, cold and remarkably UNINTELLIGENT comment was was it a real seizure or was it one of "her" seizures" in a completely sarcastic and unprofessional manner. (Assuming she has been in before)WHAT?!I actually started crying and was simply fuming. I mean I was standing outside with her while she went into a full on grand mal seizure. (Not a fake seizure)Who cares about any back story. Why in the world was she completely left to fend for herself in her vulnerable state? Why does this nurse even work here if she lacks simple humanity

My partner went to this hospital yesterday evening with the symptoms of a heart attack or other possible heart problem. He had not eaten all day and was made to wait overnight without any food or water, and when he asked for a glass of water the staff denied him and told him he can only pay for a bottle of water from the vending machine. I am at home with our 7 month old baby and tried calling the hospital multiple times to find out what was happening with him, as his phone had died. I was repeatedly put through to a department that didn't answer their phones whatsoever, and let it ring for over 20 minutes. This led to my partner having to walk home with his heart problem in the pouring rain because I was unable to find out when to pick him up. I will be making a formal complaint.

Oh you're in pain and have an issue? Please see our triage nurse, alright done. Now let's get you seated in the waiting room and someone will come call your name soon....13hrs later...Name gets calledWhat a joke of a hospital, the staff themselves are fine that's not the problem. Just the hospital.

If needing longer admission, this is the best hospital cafeteria in the city. They have fresh made healthy food daily, with each meal having vegetarian and gluten free options. Reasonable pricing. Also great courtyard, and psych ward is absolutely lovely. Emergency is small because this is a community hospital and patients have to often be left in hallways when the beds are full. But they are now opening up a new emergency building at the misericordia which will really increase capacity !

I had a hip arthroscopy surgery on March 14th. My paperwork was lost by the office for 3 months prior. If I didn't call to get an update, I'd still be waiting to hear back! I had to do my own research about the procedure as well. I arrived at 6am with my family members on the day of the surgery. My family was told to leave the hospital, and come back when I was post op. This didn't make sense, as other patients around me had support systems. My first nurses name started with an S, she was extremely rude. She told me You're going to feel like we're rushing you
