Professor Emerson Lopes Junior is an absolute beast in rolls, calm, calculated, and his experience is immediately evident! He is a world class instructor and athlete! It is an honour to train with him and learn from him. He rolls with all of his students, he actually coaches you when you're rolling so you can maximize your efforts, and every lesson reiterates the last so you retain so much more than you you do under other instructors I have personally experienced. The training is INTENSE and very competition oriented. It is well communicated to his students which techniques are allowed and which are not depending on rank, and everyone leaves their ego at the door, including him! Every technique taught is rigorously pressure tested. If you want to not only learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but also become the best practitioner and competitor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that you can? Lopes BJJ, is a really great gym. The gym is always clean and has a friendly welcoming environment. I started here as a blue belt. In a lil over 2 months my jiu jistu game has been elevated significantly. The way I move, think and feel about jiu jistu has been changed for the better. Emerson is a incredible coach, he is skilled, intelligent, caring, honest and has incredible movements. He rolls and trains with all of his students. He is always encouraging and pushing us to be better. All of the students are very helpful and knowledgeable. There are students of all levels and sizes and age. Everyone is welcome and from beginners to black belt. There is no drama or politics here, no negativity. I feel it is a honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to train here and Lopes BJJ

Professor Emmerson is an amazing instructor, and I'm very honoured to have the opportunity to train under, and with him. The first time I met him when I was ranked as a child still, he had absolutely no problem rolling with me and understanding how much to give me for me to try and get out of. He watched what I did and played towards giving me a puzzle to solve instead of just declining the roll, or using me as a rag doll. You can tell he wholeheartedly cares and enjoys teaching.
