Cottonwood Beach Recreation Site

This hidden little gem is getting more popular now that the access road has real signs. Still a great spot if you can secure a site!

Amazing place to go. A little difficult to get to because the road is a little rough some years but worth the effort. The beach is beautiful and the lake is amazing all summer. Wonderful place to go

Went camping here with my girlfriend. The campsites were nice and well maintained. She approved the outhouses and even goes so far as to say they smell nice". The beach and water was extremely nice. The waterfall was very pretty and kept us busy. Overall this site was great. Just bring water and some extra gas."

Huge Rave to Courtney who takes care of Cottonwood Rec site out Mabel Lake! So well taken care of! Lots of little trails to check out and the water was so nice! Great price for a little slice of heaven! Can't wait to get back out there!

Water is clear and ok warm. Beautiful place and relaxing. It’s not very big beach.

A decent sized campground with different sized sites to choose from. A couple of the sites are located very close to the beach. It's a first come first serve place. You can't hold sites for friends, so if you've got others coming in try to arrive at the same time. ATVs are idle in and out, you cannot ride them through the campground or to the beach. The site we chose was nice and big with no other sites super close to us (number 36 on the map) It backed out onto a treed hill area. We were just a short walk to the beach area, as there are trails to cut through the campsites infront of us. We got charged full price for having another truck at the campsite, so they charge by vehicle, not by trailer. Which kind of sucked because we were staying in a friend's trailer and figured we'd just have to pay half price maybe.The beach was busy, and it seemed like people who weren't camping there would boat in and use the beach for the day. The water was cool at first, but once you got in and used to it, it was nice and refreshing to stay in for hours on a hot summer day! The boat launch is sandy and 4WD access only.There are a few walking paths through the forest and to a small waterfall, which was nice to check out.Overall would go again and would recommend for campers that don't need hookups or bathrooms, but like the outdoor/beach camping experience!

Went here for a camp and it was a good place. The sites are a tad bit smaller but they are reasonable. The facilities were well maintained and the water was amazing. It was a busy place too. Very family friendly.We will be back.

Great place to camp for a cheap price too! Groundskeepers are very welcoming and have great rules set in place. We went in July over the weekend and there were sites available the entire time. A little off the beaten path, but even small cars can handle the logging road. Just remember there is no service out there.
