Restaurant Pho Ong Rau
Bun cha ha noi. Order it and never look back. Ordered something else for my first visit and got a taste of this dish’s broth and decided I would never order anything else. The meatballs are unreal, flavour all the way through, and the pork is charred amazingly. I dream about it and I’ve had this dish every month since I’ve moved here.

Phoongrau is our new favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Montreal.Nice location, nice view facing the beautiful church Paroisse Saint-Vincent-Ferrier. The staffs are super friendly and keep recommending their signature dishes. And they were right! The dishes are delicious!We had the Papaya salad, Fried calamari and Pho.The Salad has very tasty sauce, reminds me to the Papaya salad in Vietnam. The calamaris are … huge. The phos are flavourful, not too heavy on spices, and it’s not very salty like in some other places.A friendly staff recommended his favorite desert, the Chuối chiên - Fried banana and ice-cream with maple syrup. Definitely will try again!!!We’ll be back next time soon, for their recommended fried wontons!

We traveled from Toronto and randomly selected a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner; I didn't really have much expectation but am totally surprised after our meals arrived :)The positives:- very fresh salad and bean sprouts- generous portion size/price- great customer serviceI have no hesitation coming back the next time we are in town :)

Foods are delicious and taste likes homemade. Staffs are friendly, especially uncle Bon. Highly recommend

Restaurant Pho Ong Rau
The place is great. The only issue is that it doesn't really feel Vietnamese. The flavors are missing somehow. You don't get the herbs you usually receive when ordering a pho soup. The peanut sauce is not good. Also, if the plates were a little more hearty and a bit more portion, it would be perfect.

It was an OK experience. The service was friendly and fast. However, a few improvements could be made: the pho noodles felt like they were cooked a while ago because they were clumped together in the soup, the pho soup dish should come with fresh basil, lime and bean sprouts and the spring roll should come with a light dipping sauce. The chicken/beef plate was slightly dry as there was no sauce. Also, the restaurant inside was very hot (felt like inside a greenhouse) - two doors were opened but it wasn’t enough to get a breeze or fresh air.

Great food, friendly and helpful service. I couldn’t find a good place to eat in the neighborhood and so happy I decided to try it. The Pho was great, just what I needed on a rainy day! I love that the restaurant is right across the church.

New review:Great restaurant, food is very delicious. Portion sizes are perfect. You should try the fried banana dessert, it’s very good! You can also add an egg to the dish. Overall the place is clean and the owner certainly takes himself and his business seriously. Very kind man, you should support this restaurantOld review:It used to be good. But recently the owner changed and now the portions are very very small. I wasn’t full and I don’t eat that much. I feel like you might need two dishes to be full. Now I think the staff are very nice and the food is yummy. Service is great. But portions are way too small

It was a good evening meal. I had a veg peanut sauce sautee. Portion size was good. And the staff was cool.
