Calypso Hut Family Restaurant
Didn’t like the curry goat this time. It looked and felt like the goat needed some more time to cook, so we ended up just throwing it. I liked the gravy but the meat needed more time to cook. The curry was less flavourful compared to other places in terms of value and price. It’s disappointing. Won’t be ordering that again. The pepper wings were nice

This place is good for Carribean food. Also love how at night the restaurant turns into a bar. To get into the restaurant for events it's pretty expensive. When I came to the event they did not allow you to go in and out. If you left you weren't able to get back in without paying again! Also the DJ talks a lot and did not allow the music to play, he was also very repetitive.

I havent ordered food from here since the renovation. The food used to be sooo good. I was beyond disappointed as the chicken was so dry and not edible. The chow mein was drenched with soy sauce and the same for the rice.Will never order from here again especially to the fact i ended up throwing it all out and i dont like wasting food.What a shame.

The customer service is standard for a West Indian restaurant. The orders are prepared quickly and accurately but no one will smile when they serve you or ask how your day was, but then again if I wanted that service Calypso Hut wouldn’t be where I went. Food has remained the same quality throughout the years and the dine in is clean and quiet but I never done in.

When we came to Canada this was the place we always ate it since the 1900s. My grandparents use to host their birthday dinner at calypso hut! All our big events we ordered trays of food. Over the years the food just kept getting worse. Why? I don’t know?Today, I was craving some and went into the restaurant. It’s empty in the restaurant as people are eating from Radica next door. I ordered two special chicken fried rice and i should have ordered one or none at all from here. The quality of food has decreased ( see picture). The rice is overcooked and the chicken is undercooked. One person ordered the same thing and paid $30 and I got charged extra for nothing. I don’t know where Paul is or if he reads this but wow so disappointed.I think the owner needs to check out their competition. I went into Radica and it’s like a fine dine restaurant and their chicken fried rice looks great. It Looked like how calypso hut food use to look like. Soooo disappointed in calypso hut.

Ordered the beef lo mein it was doused in store-bought oyster sauce or soy sauce. Not sure what the sauce they used, but it had no taste whatsoever. Just pure salt vegetables over cooked. I couldn’t even eat it. It was horrible. it was like diabetes on a plate.

Calypso Hut Family Restaurant
Went here on a Sunday around 3 pm. There were only 2 other customers. We ordered a whole fried chicken and fried rice. We got the whole chicken after about 15 min. It was over cooked and dry as if it was fried twice or fried a long time ago. We then waited an additional 25 minutes to get the rice that goes with the chicken. We tried our best not to pick at the chicken expecting the rice to arrive shortly. We asked the waitress a few times what was happening and she said it would come soon. By the time we got the rice, the chicken was cold and hard. Very poor experience especially as they were not busy. The only reason I gave this a 3 is because the rice was very tasty. I’m not sure what to say except the service needs to be a lot better. We would have preferred getting hot chicken and rice at the same time. Not sure I would dine in here again.

Jerry was an amazing worker. Respectful and hard working. I highly recommend anyone to come here to eat and drink. Atmosphere is electric and the music is amazing ! Thank you Jerry. You are very appreciated. Also Trista was amazing as well. She took care of me and my friends. Also hard working and she is quick in service thank you!
