I really give this place 0 Stars. I have been going to evo in Seattle since 2009 and always enjoyed the experience. This review is for their Whistler store. I was looking for a new pair of skis and prepared to pay $1000+ but wanted to demo some first. Went straight to evo upon arriving in Whistler and asked the guy at the ski counter if they do demo skis. He stared blankly at me and said Yes". I waited what seemed like an eternity for more information to come but nothing was offered by the guy. Just dead silence. I asked him "well what skis do you demo". He again stared blankly at me and pointed to the ski rack and said "those skis there". I asked

Wow, what a horrible experience. I rented a downhill bike through Evo’s website because I figured they are a big and reputable company with quality products and quality employees. I showed up for my reservation and the employee had no idea how to find my name and find the bike. It took three employees an HOUR to get my name pulled up. They tried to charge me $375 for a one day rental; I caught it and they changed it to $230, which is still way more than it should’ve been. I caught their second error and got the manager to refund me the difference. I also had to help the manager input my card information because he didn’t know that an Amex CVV is 4 digits. Once I got the bike, I had to spend a little over an hour going over it on my own because it was not safe to ride. Front axle was half way out, rear axle was 1/2 turn loose, non drive side shock bolt was engaged by one thread, rear caliper wasn’t tight, front tire had 10 psi, rear tire had 9 psi, and stem bolt was loose. I’m a mechanic at a shop back home and know what I’m doing. This bike was not safe to ride and I had to waste another hour of my day fixing it. They said they could hold my trail bike for me until the end of the day while I was renting and I was extremely disappointed to find a decent scrape on my top tube when I returned because they had another bike’s brake lever on it :(. I tried to voice my disappointment with everything at the end of the day, but the employee really couldn’t care less. I understand that these are demo bikes and they get ridden, but they should be safe to ride as they all have “safety check” tags on them before they go out the door.

I can’t overstate the high level of service I received at Evo Village Sport. Not only was Christopher extremely knowledgeable, he stayed past the end of his shift to make sure I was taken care of. Prices are as good or better as you would find in the city, and they were the only shop in Whistler that stocked the parts I needed for my Atomic boots. This is my go to ski shop in the village.

Date of visit: Jan 20, 2023I developed a few hot spots in my ski boots during a trip to Whistler, and walked in on a Friday afternoon. I was greeted by Christopher, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional throughout my visit. After I described the problem areas, he offered multiple options for addressing them, and gave his recommendation for the best course of action. While adjusting my boots he was attentive (even offering me hot coffee), professional, and expert in his knowledge of all things Whistler and ski gear. He even suggested a few off-piste runs on the mountain.I am happy to report that the hot spots in my boots are gone, and my biggest problem skiing the rest of the week was tired legs. I had such a positive experience that I recommended Village Sports to two others in my group who were having similar issues the next day (both of whom were similarly happy with their results). Thank you Christopher for the expert boot work, and thanks evo for employing an excellent staff at Village Sports!

My rental boots were giving me ankle pain and I went to almost every shop in the Whistler village. Chris at Evo was hands down the most knowledgeable, the kindest, and was willing to listen to every question, comment and concern I had about boots. His mission was clearly focused on getting me the right equipment versus making a sale. He fitted me right away and they didn’t have a ton of inventory for my size and volume. We actually left to go to other stores and came back to work with Chris. If you are in Whistler and need anything for gear these are your guys!!

Great shop to rent high end skis! Danielle and Will were super helpful picking out the perfect skis for us. Will even gave them an overnight edge freshen - much appreciated on the firm bits of mid‐mountain!I took advantage of their rent to buy" deal where they will apply a few days of your rental cost to a purchase. Love my new Volkl M6s!!!! Thanks

Oh my gosh I want to give George a hug. After trying so many boots I got told I needed custom fitted boots. My feet are problematic so I wasn’t surprised. Wow what he can do with boots to make them fit your feet is genius. They feel like slippers compared to my old ones. And I loved chatting with him, a true gentleman of the mountain and a whistler legend apparently. Travis and nick have also been awesome we have a family with new skis and boots and everyone super happy! And thank you George!!

We had a fantastic experience at evo Village Sports with Christopher! He was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and went out of his way to help both myself with finding and fitting the ideal pair of boots and my boyfriend with tuning his boots. I felt supported in making the best choice in boots for my ski level and would recommend you request Christopher’s help when looking for new gear.

Dropped in thinking I may want to demo some skies and that simple 2 minute conversation changed my world. I’ve skied almost 50 years but now, because of my new friend Christopher I’ve totally fallen back in love with the slopes. He was so kind and recommended the actual Volkl skies he was planning to use later that day after his shift. It took 1 run to know he has transformed me in this act of generosity. I purchased them and love! Thanks Evo. You people are true professionals. And pretty cool peeps to boot! (No pun intended there :)

Chris was super helpful and skilled at fitting our family with Atomic ski boots. Barry is of course the master boot fitter but Chris was fully competent, knowledgeable and worthy of praise. A good boot fitter is not so common, many stores place untrained employees into this very specific skill, lack of experience can create frustration for the person spending a lot of money to get comfortable feet.
