The arepas were very good although a little smaller than last time we were there. Chips were fresh! We picked up dinner and had a nice picnic near the beach. We ordered online so didn't really experience their service first hand. Not much seating available inside.

Great arepas with an affordable price. You get 2 arepas of your choice for ~$12 that are decently sized (considering that some places in chicago charge $12-15 for one of the same size). I got the brisket and the steak both were great and had a good amount of filling. The yuca fries were ok, I would not order again. They offer indoor dining. I think the only thing they need to work on is getting more dipping sauce options.

I ordered the El Pabellon Arepas and they are some of the best I've ever had. And I've been to a lot of Columbian restaurants before.

4/5 solely because of the 4 tostones costing $5, and only the top one having cheese on top.The arepas— ordered El Pabellon per recommendation—were a delicious mix of flavors, nicely stuffed, brisket was very flavorful although not the most tender (can look past it, the flavor was that good).The orange salsa was my personal fave, had a nice little kick to it compared to the green one.Will definitely be back to try other arepa fillings, although no tostones next time

I ordered chicken salad with flour tortillas. It was great. I was amazed at how much food they provide for 10 bucks. I could use it for dinner and lunch. The base was white rice which made the meal heavy.

I tried their Veggie bowl with sweet plantains and it all tasted so good. The people at the store were warm and friendly. They offered me a house made spicy sauce and it was spicy as hell, but it tasted amazing at the same time. If you're up for testing your spice levels, do try out the house made spicy sauce and let me know your thoughts.

I’m very picky when it comes to food and I LOVE this place. I hope they survive the harsh Evanston food climate! I could eat there every week if I could.I love the la llorena and the chicken tacos and my picky two year old actually ate rice and beans and tried the empanadas which was pretty huge to be honest! Awesome vegetarian options for my veggie friends and family.Only cons are they do offer dine in, but it wouldn’t be a great place for a date or lunch with a friend (unless you are willing and able to do a picnic or eat at home) and parking can be rough. But it’s worth it.

We had La Cocinita cater the late night bite for our wedding and their arepas were a huge hit! They drove their food truck to our venue in St. Charles, Illinois, cooked the arepas on location, plated them in portable containers, and had a staff member serve them to our guests. The wedding was two weeks ago and we are still getting comments about how guests wished they would have eaten more arepas! The arepas were absolutely authentic and delicious and we can’t wait to go back to eat them again. One of our favorite aspects of the whole catering process was how easy it was to work with the team. We set up a tasting with Rachel a few months before the wedding and she did a great job introducing us to their menu, answered all of our questions, and seamlessly integrated the arepas into our wedding plan. The team was incredibly responsive via email and always very professional. We highly recommend this place for its great food and amazing catering!
