Old Hedley Road West Recreation Site

has bees rattle snakeslots of wind , dirty campsites because pigs leave there garbage .out house out of order. no garbage cans on site and little or no maintenance

One of our favorite camping spots right along the similcameen River. No amenities but the view is spectacular.

It's a good road with not many pot holes. You do not need 4 wheel drive. Lots of camping along the way to.

Great rustic camping..hit bromley rock as side trip

beatiful before humans destroyed this area, and camp supervisor is useless, had both nights wide awake with noise from partying locals, camp attendants not on site... epic fail, tenting is getting harder by the summer...

Site 8Although river and valley views are lovely, actual river access is not easy – there’s a 20ft steep, crumbly drop between the campsites and the river – would only be readily accessible by very athletic people.Almost-level dirt pad. Picnic table and fire pit provided. No camp fires permitted due to extreme wildfire danger. Posted rate (fall 2021) $15/night/site. The ranger didn't come by to collect, though!Traffic noise is almost overwhelming during the day due to the straight stretch of Crowsnest Highway 3 across the river. It does quieten down a bit at night, but expect disrupted sleep.Speaking of crumbly, be careful taking vehicles into the riverside sites … there are narrow but deep washouts that could snag a wheel.Long-drop/thunderbox toilet was clean but the fragrance (after a summer of use) was eye-watering.Despite this, we enjoyed our afternoon of r&r and overnight at the site!

Lovely campground, if you like bringing all you need and packing it out.Lucky number 13 is the best spot, with easy" access to the rappids and the road across the way obscured by trees. The rappids have an easy going whirlpool on the side of the campground and real daredevils can tube down the main rappids."

Campground host/operator charging $5 more than Recreation Sites and Trails BC posted rates for camping there. The rate is $15.

Rustic forestry campsite. Clean and has fire pit and table.Noisy because of proximity to highway across the river.
