Townson Dog Training

My dog just completed e collar training with Townson Dog Training and we had a wonderful experience. Flip was professional and efficient. He provided many dogs as distraction on our final sessions. My dog went from 60% recall to coming to me all the time without even needing to press the button in just 6 sessions. Having a dog who can recall changes our lives because now we can go exploring in the woods every day and do things we never would have been able to do when I didn't trust her to return when needed. I'd recommend Townson Dog Training to anyone. Looking forward to joining pack walks and doing more obedience training with Flip!

I cannot say enough good things about Townson Dog Training. Flip is very helpful and knowledgeable. He was always available to answer my questions and never made me feel like my questions weren’t valid. He didn’t rush through any of our sessions and was very flexible in scheduling sessions. If he or I felt my dog needed more time to work on skills between sessions he was always great about rescheduling. Flip relies on volunteers for his lessons which is so so important when working on behaviour modification for a fear reactive dog. If there aren’t enough volunteers for your session he will reschedule and always has the best interest of your dog at heart. Flip is very personable and realistic. He doesn’t sugar coat things and I know when I ask questions, I will always receive the answer I need not the answer I want. I have a pure-bred border collie who is the poster child for a covid puppy. We started off with a purely positive trainer because at the time I wasn’t educated in dog training. I thought prong collars and e-collars were torture devices. Boy was I WRONG! These tools SAVED my relationship with my dog. I was at my breaking point with her when I reached out to Flip. When I originally tried pure positive training with her, it wasn’t working at all. She was actually becoming worse. I couldn’t take her out anywhere without her completely flipping out and barking at everyone and everything. She would lay down in the middle of the street and sidewalk and I would be in tears by then end of our walks. One day she even bolted down our street after she escaped through the front door which could have ended very badly. After training with Flip I am more confident in my dog. I trust that when I give her a command she will follow through. Before training with Flip I was apprehensive about having her off leash in our back yard but now she listens well and I can confidently allow her more freedom. When Flip first came to meet us, my dog was a mess! She barked and lunged at Flip the whole hour he was here. By the end of our training sessions, she and Flip were the best of friends. There were times I thought about giving up and Flip encouraged me to keep going. I am so happy we did because I now have a whole new dog. I can take her anywhere now. She isn’t perfect by any means and her training will be an on-going lifelong commitment but if you saw her before we started training with Flip you would be amazed! Flip’s training is invaluable and worth every penny. My only regret is that I didn’t reach out to him sooner. All my future puppies will be trained with Flip. Honestly you will not be disappointed with his training. If you are open to learning and following through with what he tells you, you and your dog will be on the road to a long and happy life together!

We took our nervous 1.5 year old terrier Benny, to a trainer in Welland and it was unorganized, confusing and stressful for the dog, and for us.A neighbour referred us to Townson Dog Training, Flip came by to do a consult and we started training right away. After the 8 week beginner's class, Benny is more comfortable on walks, stopped running out the front door, comes back when we call him. He is a new dog. Walks are enjoyable for all of us now and he is not afraid when other dogs walk by us. I would absolutely recommend Townson to anyone looking to have a more confident dog...or owner.

I’ve never had a dog before Bailey so when we got her last year I wanted to do it all right from the beginning. So after a long research I decided to try Flip a Townson dog school. Bailey was 14 weeks old. I never looked back. Flip’s commitment to his students,his gently yet firm approach ,his patience with us,furbaby parents,is undeniable. His professionalism is outstanding . My Bailey is a year old now and completed beginner ,intermediate classes and reality recall with Flip and his two pups Coda and Rollo. My Bailey learned so much and I myself find training with him so easy and a wonderful way to bond with my Bailey. I couldn’t recommend his school more. Very very impressed with his standards of professionalism and commitment .
