Steve Hiscoe has 40 years of experience in Jiu Jitsu. His vast knowledge, professional attitude and focus on self defense is one of the best in Western Canada. The children's programs he runs at his school is one of the best designed and successful one's I've ever seen.His adult programs are practical and well respected. IF you are in the Chilliwack area, this is the place to check out...hands down.

This is an excellent program! Sensei is very firm, but fair and demands respect. There is a very practical, self defense aspect to the program that I really like. Our 9 year old son who has been diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety and some other issues, has never felt comfortable doing much outside of his comfort zone. After some convincing, we got him signed up at Hiscoe. To see the change in his confidence, the proudness on his face after a good hour and the increase in his focusing ability has us hooked. Sensei Hiscoe has become someone our son looks up to very much in a very short time. Our daughter is now also registered to start this month too. She has become a fan of Hiscoe Jiu Jitsu and Sensei just by watching her brother every week. Thank you Steve and staff for your amazing work. I have been training the last 3 years with Sensei Hiscoe at Hiscoe Jiu Jitsu. I have found his approach to teaching self defense either with the kids or adults invaluable. Training in other dojo's I have never experienced as much confidence and strenght that I feel training at Hiscoe Jiu Jitsu. Great people to train with, and Excellent Instructors!

Kyoshi Hiscoe is one of the most knowledgeable instructors I've ever trained with.I've been involved with Hiscoe Jiu Jitsu since 1999 and have had nothing but positive interactions with the students there, a very family feel to the whole school.

My son started taking jiu jitsu here at 4 years old. He was rambunctious and crazy and a bit shy. The classes have helped him to calm down and listen as well as be less shy. He loves going to class! They teach the self defense skills as well as age appropriate lessons about colours, numbers, etc. at the same time. Sensei is terrific with children!

Best martial arts instructor in the lower mainland. Sensi Steve is top knotch at both martial arts and self defense skill building but my favorite thing about Hiscoe Jujitsu is he works in the character values too! He teaches them about courage, being thankful, respect and many other core values! We appreciate all the hard work he puts into his students and our son is in his 3rd year and we do some crazy driving to make it to his classes in Chilliwack at Hiscoe Jujitsu because we see the value in this particular training with this specific instructor. We believe Sensi Steve is the best in all of the lower mainland for teaching kids self defense and adding in core values into each session. Thanks for all you do Sensi Steve and Hiscoe Jujitsu!!!

Steve is a class individual who genuinely cares about giving kids self confidence and self discipline. I've had both my kids in his classes and highly recommend Hiscoe Jiu-Jitsu. At the very least, it's a great way to get the kids some exercise and teach them how to defend themselves. But it could also be a life long discipline. 5 stars!

My 8 eight year old daughter recently went in for an interview/assessment with Steve as part of his onboarding process. With some good questions and some excellent introductory 1:1 physical and mental drills and exercises, he took her from being somewhat doubtful and hesitant to excited to begin lessons! He was funny, focused and honest. As a coach and an experiential educator myself, I really appreciated his approach and integrity. We cant wait to start! Thanks Steve!
