Holiday Inn Express & Suites Riverport Richmond, an IHG Hotel

Rooms: fair size with decent height. No fancy renovation.Service: The front desk is sweet. However the room is not sanitary. I doubt they barely clean the bathtub. The first night right before our first shower, my kids found several body hair in the tub. I asked them for better cleaning the next day. But they still didn't clean the tub. There's shampoo floating on the water when we filled the tub the second evening. So we ended up cleaning the bath tub by ourselves.Location: convenient location in Richmond. However parking is limited. Also the road leading to the hotel is narrow with dirty ditches on the side. Be careful when driving in the dark.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn for 10 days, well working out of town. Good location if you have a car. The room was clean and nice, but the heat controls did not correlate with the actual room temperature. The room was either extremely cold or hot, but it would not remain at a comfortable temperature. With the kitchenette, the full-size fridge was handy. However, the combo microwave/oven was useless in the oven mode. My biggest complaint was the overly common occurrence of the room card constantly stopping to work. My colleague did have his catalytic converter stolen from his vehicle during the stay.

The breakfast ladies were very nice and accommodating. The location wasn't great for where we needed to go but the plaza looks pretty nice. Our room had 2 queen sized beds and a sofa bed. Ample charging ports but unfortunately the A.C. control was broken and my family complained about the cold.

Room was covered in Black Mold, which triggered an allergic reaction for us. In the morning we already suffered from allergy.Additionally, bathtub has pink bacteria growing on surfaces ( Serratia marcescens and Aureobasidium pullulans).Hotel management is OK with that.Additionally, dust is everywhere in room: desks, lamps, clock.Looks like nobody cleaned our room before our arrival. And if pink slimy bacteria growing in bathroom - it means nobody sanitizes bathroom in this hotel before guests check in.Again, hotel management is totally OK with that as long as they keep collecting money. This hotel IS EXPENSIVE!My recommendation: stay away from that hotel if you want to stay HEALTHY! Nobody there cares about your health....And Customer Service is ABSENT!I honestly don't understand why this hotel is allowed to be in IHG family and operate under the name Holiday Inn Express.

Air conditioning didn't work. We were miserable all night. Tried Open the windows but we were right next to the smoking section so had to close the window. Check in was pretty easy. The parking lot was horrible. The parking spaces could barely fit a small car. Breakfast was decent. Towels are in the shower which I though was strange because they got wet before you could even use them.
