Fitness Avenue

I previous had left a scathing negative review of Fitness Avenue, but upon going against my better judgement, I deleted it and made a significant purchase. There really is almost no alternative in home gym equipment currently, and I have a few friends who were satisfied with their orders. I was extremely annoyed with lack of curbside pickup and while I am less annoyed now, it is still a bone of contention I have with this company.That being said, my first (and definitely not last) transaction with Fitness Avenue was actually excellent. I ordered a power rack, adjustable bench, and a bunch of virgin rubber olympic plates. 6 days after my order, I received a phone call to arrange delivery (I chose the local delivery option for $100). It took a total of 9 days for my order to be delivered, pretty painlessly, other than it arriving approximately 3 hours later than I was told. A little inconvenient as I left work early and rushed home to be there, but no big deal.The quality appears pretty good for what you are paying, installation is not difficult but the instructions are pretty poor. They’re just illustrations showing you part numbers and placements, and the image clarity is a little rough. You’ll want to take your time and lay out your pieces and be sure things are the right way before tightening everything. Helps to have two people with the rack given the length of the supports. I have a bit of an issue with one of the welds on the support bracket /pin that holds your olympic bar, I will supply a pic for reference. Other than that, everything really looks good. Paint is scuffed in some places, probably from shipping, but nothing egregious.Honestly, I judged this company too harshly as I feel extremely satisfied with what I got, for the price pice, and at the speed. I will definitely be placing an order with them again at some point in the near future.

Ordered a preacher bench online. We picked it up and they gave us no receipt after we signed some forms. We go to install it and the machine is broken, the pad is misaligned and the arm has very bad tolerances. I ask for refund after showing some pictures and it takes forse we ti get an answer back from them. I go back to the store and they tell me that there will be a restocking fee.why would I pay a restocking fee if it’s broken? The answer is the box I open and to resell it we will have to discount it. How can you resell a faulty item?? In addition they conveniently didn’t give me the pick up receipt where they state they have their return terms. The terms are completely stupid…you cannot return an item if it’s open but how do you see if the item is faulty with a closed box!!?? In the end they refunded me the amount minus the restocking fee. I’ll fight them with my credit card company. Do not buy from them

Easy to order. Pick up times are a little restricted, and I think it should be clearer when ordering that if you pick up, it has to be the person whose name is on the credit card as you must present credit card and ID to pick up. But over all good experience. Happy with the product so far.

Made an order for pick-up. Emailed them that i'll be picking up the order later than expected which they said was fine. Arrived at the location and was then told that they didn't have my product in stock and no one was available when trying to call customer service. I emailed them about the lack of communication and they emailed back saying I should have been checking the website to make sure they still had stock and picked it up asap. Awful.

Completely dysfunctional service. Incorrectly marked items as in-stock, doesn't send the item, and then accuses customers of actually receiving it before eventually realizing that they messed up. Then takes multiple days to simply process a refund of only that missing item while ignoring the ridiculous shipping fees that were charged. They finally escalated the ticket after a phone call, to eventually just say 'no too bad we had to pay more for shipping so there's nothing we can do'. Avoid this company like the plague unless you enjoy missing items and laughable customer service.

Dysfunctional service . The products in their website is purchasable says it is in stock in reality once you arrive they tell ‘oh sorry too bad nothing I can do’. On top of what I mentioned when I was in the store Asian guy tried to humble me while wearing sunglasses with his rude and careless attitude, it is unacceptable.

We ordered from Fitness Avenue three months ago. Overall, quality of the equipment is pretty good and they have competitive prices. I think the main issue is the lack of instruction for assembly and warranty on their product.We wanted to set up a home gym with a functional trainer. Given that our basement is on the shorter side, we needed something under 80 inches. The SFT100 trainer offered by Fitness Avenue was the only one we found online that fit our size requirements. We also purchased a bench and interlocking gym mats. The order took 2-3 weeks to ship which isn’t bad. I didn’t receive any notice about shipping but was able to check online regarding the status. FedEx ended up delivering our rather large package with one person, and I ended up having to physically help him transport it off the truck.The “manual” for our trainer was literally one piece of paper, with no description of steps or parts. We had to just figure things out and piece things together. Parts aren’t labelled and the parts listed on the paper didn’t match with what came in the package. In the end it took three of us 4-5 hours to put everything together. It may not have assembled completely correctly, but it’s intact and functioning.We use the machine 2-3 times a week. It’s a double stack trainer, but one of the stack cables has a big twist in it. It’s still useable but it’s annoying and we’re careful that it doesn’t rub.We’ve had no issues with the bench. The mats are sturdy. They slide a bit but we have thin carpet underneath so that’s probably expected. They stay locked. I will note that I didn’t order enough mats with the initial purchase, and was able to get through to them on the phone (although did have to call a few times), and they also did respond promptly to my email inquiries. I know some reviews have had issues with customer service but that wasn’t the case.So in summary, competitive prices, decent equipment, but may be difficult to assemble and I’m not sure how much warranty or coverage you would get.

Purchased the AmStaff Leg extension/curl machine in Toronto store. The plastic caps on the sides of leg pads cracked and disintegrated and we requested replacements by calling into the store. The store pushed us online to resolve the issue to which we provided date of purchase, credit card # and name to verify- they refused to process request without an order number". We did not keep our "order #" on file so we asked them to simply check their store records via the purchase date and transaction. They refused and claimed that we have to drive in to the store!? - they would not provide the order# over the phone or via the customer service email to service the request. The staff demonstrated pure obstructive and difficult processes for a simple fix.Do not purchase from these people. Such acts and policies are in place clearly to limit their accountability and exposure on their cheap overseas product - They have no intentions of backing up their products."

With the gyms all closed, I wanted to get a good chin/dip station for home. After searching extensively, I found one in-stock at Fitness Avenue online. There was a note indicating that there would be a 15 to 20 business day wait, but I placed my order anyways. I was pleasantly surprised that after 14 business days, two large packages arrived via FedEx containing my order. The unit came neatly packaged and it took about 90 minutes to assemble it. I am pleased with the build quality and the great price that they were selling it for. I looked at similar units that were much more expensive.

I placed an online order and only regretted the entire process.They withheld my order because the billing and shipping address were different. No attempt was made to inform me of this matter. I have to follow-up on the shipping status.I received a bench missing washers, a rip in the upholstery, and a significant amount of damage to the powder coating. It took several days for them to get back to me with a laughable 10% discount with NO OPTIONS FOR A REPLACEMENT. Given the extent of the damage this was very unacceptable. I had to plead my case several times to get a marginally better discount. When they finally issued this partial refund, they did not even refund the associated taxes.If you're looking for a good product and a company that stands behind their products shop elsewhere!
