Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre

I have been a client at this centre for several years and am thankful and pleased to say everyone there has been courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank heaven we have the Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre.!

I’ve been going here for a long time but due to the receptionists I’m thinking of going somewhere else. Love my nurse practitioner but the receptionists are rude and incompetent unfortunately, when discussing the appointment when booking we said 3:30 then went with 4, waited 3 weeks for the appointment get there and says it’s for 3:30 she put the wrong time in afterwards (came home and even had the 3:30 scribbled out on my end and knew she was wrong) mistakes happen yes , but it was also that the other receptionist was busy and she ignored me for a few minutes then was rude about the appointment so took my son to a urgent care which I’ve been doing lately since it’s impossible to get in anyways.

The Staff are Wonderful. Lots of daily activities for refugees and homeless. Just be ready to wear a mask if you want to participate!

I hope the Diabetes session zoom links are shared early. You can easily schedule zoom sessions way in advance and I don't see why they keep this secret till the last day.It is inconvenience to have a calendar blocked but then not knowing what to do and where to click.

Poor support, transfers to places not even the correct branch of health care, refuses to help with anxiety disorder because it can be addictive" - as though vomiting 3 times a week

Worst call/ customer service. I called to book an appointment a week ago and had to call myself a week after to ask for an appointment. I was told my condition and symptoms were not good enough to get an appointment sooner than 2 and a half weeks from now. The person who answered the phone was extremely rude and talked down to me. She was not a problem solver whatsoever, did not offer me any alternatives to seek care or perhaps see a different practitioner besides going to an urgent clinic if my situation was so urgent". All I was asking for was an annual physical mainly to get a blood requisition form for my anemia

I thank God for this place .Every aspect of KDCHC's services and Its staff actually do help whoever's comes in the door.Chris MortonEvelyn and Gail have been a godsend to me .Whatever help you need go there if you can't find it elsewhere

If you're lucky enough to get into this clinic, they're wonderful. They're an example of how our healthcare system should be run, with access to dieticians and counselors rather than simply prescribing medication for conditions that require support and lifestyle changes. The nurses I've met have been unbelievably kind and have taken the time to really listen to a challenging patient's concerns
