What a fantastic place to stay! Beyond clean very quiet and the owners are super nice. I cannot think of a better place to stay. The cabins have their own docks and Tyson is a great place to canoe and get some peace and quiet. Definitely will be back.

Nice little place with a Killarney park pass included. You do still need to stop by the visitors center to get a parking spot for some of the more popular hikes. We had a full kitchen with fridge and freezer and composting toilet in our room. It was nice to take the canoe out on the water. There are a lot of bugs in general this time of year so save your wallet and buy a bug net ahead of time. The owners are very accommodating and also provided some much needed bug spray and sun block for guests to use. Showers are communal. Good wifi available in your cabin but cell service is spotty.

Amazing place and owners! We loved everything - the cabin with everything you may need, comfortable beds and pillows, the privacy, the warm lake with a trampoline, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes. The view from the cabins facing the water and decks is breathtaking. We were lucky to find this place and an available cabin during our time exploring the Killarney Provincial Park. Thank you, Chris and your family!

Chris and Sue operate their amazing resort with pride and passion. From the gorgeous gardens at the front of their house to the cleanliness of the rooms, washrooms and showers. Not only is there so much to do at the resort, it is also a great resting point between day hikes in Killarney Provincial Park. They have added two paddleboards to their fleet of water toys, which already consist of many kayaks and a few canoes, life jackets and all sizes of paddles. Forgot your bug spray or sunscreen before heading out on the water?...they have you covered! With multiple docks and two water trampolines, you can spend hours in the refreshing, clean waters of Tyson Lake.Start your day with an early morning kayak on the still water, cook an awesome breakfast in the fully equiped cabin kitchen, pack a lunch and head to The Crack trailhead, only a 20 minute drive west of the resort. This was our second year staying at Avalon. This year we spent 6 days in August. The weather will not always be perfect and the main highway into Killarney (which passes the resort) was undergoing construction improvements, but those things cannot be controlled. Manage your expectations! If you hear construction noise, head out for a paddle or a hike and get away from the beeping until the crews pack up for the day.If it rains, pull out a book or board game (there were a couple of games supplied in the cabin) or connect to the resort-wide wifi.We have already booked again for 2023!

Avalon is a hidden gem in the beautiful Killarney area. We stayed in cabin 4; singing loon, So I will be primarily speaking on that cabin, as well as the area around the resort. You could basically show up here with nothing but the clothes on your back, food, and some bug spray. The cabin we stayed in had everything you could need for a weekend getaway; dishes, kitchen utensils, oven, stove, fridge, running water, pillows, blankets, soap, bathroom, you name it, it was here. The cabin even had WiFi which came as a surprise. You have free range to select some canoes or kayaks for your weekend use, and are able to bring them to your dock (whether private or shared) and go out as you please. For photographers as myself, this place is a dream. You can watch sunrise and sunset from the dock, admire the windswept pines, go on either easy, or complex hikes, drive 30 minutes into the town of Killarney and see the lighthouse, fish, the list goes on. The cabin was CLEAN when we arrived, right down to every corner, every window, the bed, etc. The windows allow a great cross breeze. The hosts were beyond friendly, an amazing family. They put your wellbeing first, checking in when they have the chance, offering whatever you could need to make your stay wonderful. They even provide you a slip you can bring into the Killarney park main office, which will get you a parking pass to enjoy the various hikes they have to offer. The resort is right beside Tyson Lake marina, which is owned by another lovely family who allowed me to wander their property and take photos, it is an awesome spot to launch your boat and keep it at your cabin dock. Overall, I think this is an amazing place for pretty much anyone to stay; hosting a family reunion, a couple's retreat, a small family, a solo getaway, fishing trip with the friends, etc. This is your place. All I can say is we cannot wait to stay at Avalon Eco Resort again in the future.

We stayed at campsite#3 during the July long weekend. This campsite is right by the water with amazing scenery. We also enjoyed the canada day fireworks from our campsite. Washroom a d showers are super clean. There are canoes and kayaks available for free. Very short drive to killarney park. Definitely will come back.

Excellent service at a comfortable place to stay. Very tidy, clean, and very quiet.Right on route 637, so you will hear cars pass, but the road is not a busy one. We have heard the lapping water more often than vehicles.About 25 minutes from Killarney Provincial Park, and your stay includes day pass to the park. Well worth the investment.

Beautiful spot, and I can't overstate how clean the place was kept every day. In particular I don't think I've ever seen such clean outdoor washroom facilities. The owners are so nice and accommodating and the cabins were very well stocked. The only real issue we had with ours was that the hardwood flooring was splitting and breaking in places. We had to keep our shoes on inside for safety and we put a chair over one of the worst of the boards to avoid tripping on it. Overall though we really loved our stay and appreciated being allowed to bring our dog with us.
