They've made a lot of upgrades and improvements to this facility in the past couple of years, and you can definitely tell. The beaches are much nicer, and the water is cleaner. It's a great place to spend a day.

Friendly for family, I can chat with friends without worrying kids got drowning in the lake because thete is a lifeguard! Very relaxing place.

Kids can spend hours here building sand castles and splashing in the lake. Great washroom/shower/change facilities too! We all had fun in the sun :)

Well maintained facilities with lots of space for families. Good place to spend some quality time with your family and friends on weekends or evenings. Lots of fun for kids.. must go and enjoy the summer.

Wasn’t impressed but a good place for family gathering if they are willing to do BBQ or lunch. kids under 12 can enjoy because there are lots of swings. It can be also used as BBQ spot but you have to bring your own grill.Not recommended for youngsters thou.

Sikome Aquatic Facility - North Swim Centre
A great mini lake hidden in a small valley in the fish Creek park. Lots of surrounding trees and foliage to filter out the wind that was happening today but allowed enough through to keep the bugs down. The water was refreshing. Although the parking was full there was still loads of space to pick from in either sandy, shady or sunny areas. Facilities are as clean as you can expect for an outdoor water space and park. Play park for the kids too. Will return when the heat comes back.

We had a great time and the entrance fee is reasonable. My only suggestion would be to change the rocks to sand in the playground area. My kids and I walked all the way around the lake to get there only to find out it was pebbles which are not friendly on bare feet and I didn't want to carry all of their shoes. Otherwise, the water was a nice temperature, lots of places to set up and if you forget something you can purchase many items at the front desk, which is handy.

Great little swimming hole in SE Calgary, the North entrance is much busier than the south, I'm assuming because it's has the concessions, play parks and better access to shade to setup. If you bring your own shade you can always get your spot on the sand. Very busy on Canada Day this year but the weather was amazing and everyone looked to be loving the outdoors.
