Crag X Indoor Climbing Centre

Awesome climbing wall! Brand new facility, decently high wall, lots of variation in climbing problems, awesome staff, and it's right downtown. They do bouldering, top rope, lead climbing, and have a bunch of auto belayers! What more could you ask for?

I've been climbing here regularly in the evenings for a while now and needless to say this is one of my happy places in Victoria.The gym is set up in a way where I feel incredibly safe, both route/gear wise and from staff, where they've been encouraging and comforting in my climbing journey. (Shoutout to Hannah, Aaron, Ella, Khaled and Kenneth.) I appreciate that every rope has a belay device and is knotted off with a zip tie. It's not a requirement for them to provide this but appreciated nonetheless.Highly recommend this place regardless of skill level, and it doesn't hurt that it's in the downtown core.I love all the events that happen here to! The front desk has the cutest newspaper going on with stories, routes, and an event calendar. I'd check it out.One thing I'd love to see if a reno/upgrade is ever in the future is gender neutral washroom facilities. For the most part, I find the washrooms to be trans friendly, but for folks who don't identify with male or female, it would be helpful for those who need it. Something to consider.

Fantastic facility in downtown Victoria. Friendly staff. Gear rentals. Autobelays. Plenty of routes to choose from.

this is a good gym B) i think it’s a bit pricey (every gym is a bit pricey) but i wish it was more financially accessible. the staff are helpful, but also some staff have an interesting gatekeeping energy and can be a little rude/passive. the walls are really great and routes are often creative. i like that they have bouldering as well!one thing!! that might be cool!!! is if!!! there was a gender neutral washroom!! B) ok bye bye

Great climbing gym. Only three years old so everything is in great condition. The staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks to Emily and for being quick and efficient with the mandatory belay test. One thing to know about this gym is that you have to use their Grigri when belaying. So if you haven't used one of them before be sure to practice. They are super safe but just a little different than an ATC device. There were just two autobelay devices working that night so take a friend to make the most of your time. The Walltopia equipment is great. There are lots of budget times to climb for a discount if you contact them.

Crag x is a great all around gym. Offers bouldering, lead, top rope climbing, and a good training set up. The staff are great.

My sister and I just finished the two week membership and lesson pass and really enjoyed it! Liam was our instructor during our lesson and was very welcoming to us as newcomers to the gym. You can tell Liam really cares for climbing, and was excited to bring more people into the sport, wherever they may be at with their skill levels. We had a lot of fun challenging ourselves with the different levels of climbs available. I also like that there are lots of events to build the community here, I was able to drop in for the Christmas market this past weekend where I could both climb and shop around. Excited to go again in the future!

My partner and I had a lesson last week with Hannah and she was awesome. Being new to climbing we were in a beginner group lesson and Hannah did such a great job of clearly and carefully explaining everything. She broke everything down into managable steps and made climbing very approachable. I would highly recommend lessons with Hannah- her jokes and sense of humor were a great touch!

I started climbing less than a year ago. I have not stopped. I've now climbed boulders, mountains, cliffs, caves, and canyons with no signs of stopping. It's a wonderful sport that'll allow you to see and do some amazing things, and CragX is a phenomenal place to start. All the staff are awesome, and while I'll endlessly complain about squishy starts and tiny pockets, the route setters do an amazing job of having a variety of climbs & boulders for all preferences and styles!
