I discovered the Ethiopian cuisine in Vancouver when I was looking for authentic restaurants.Now that I am in Calgary, I had to find a good Ethiopian place to satisfy my occasional cravings.Since I don't eat meat and I don't like food to be too spicy, it's not that easy to find a good place with such restrictions... But Habesha was great with a wide variety of options; and the hosts were very kind and happy to help!We ended up with a veggie platter with no hot spices and it turned out great!

A group of three people, two of us first timers, went to Habesha restaurant for a late lunch. The dishes were beautifully presented, and every bite was heavenly. We shared the “Gurage tibs” , honestly, the best tasting tibs dish I ever had. I should have asked Ewunet, the owner, if it was a fusion recipe. The flavours of the other two dishes, kitfo special and lamb (yebeg) tibs, were equally rich and delicious. The coffee, severed in traditional clay coffe pot, has a bolder and gustier taste typical of dark roast Arabica coffee, simply perfect. All accompanied with an excellent customer service. We will return, and recommend to pay a visit.

Hello. I walked in to get safe and warm after an uncomfortable Uber experience. I asked the staff at the host stand if that was alright while I called for a safe ride.I did not know what restaurant I was at because I had just escaped a negative situation.I asked what kind of restaurant it was and had eye rolls and glares.They would not even talk to me. I left and waited outside and felt that it was racist and very judgmental. I was looking for safety.

Seriously killer food. Its rich and delicious. The server was very patient and clearly explained to us what the dishes were. They did a pretty good job at following covid rules compared to other restaurants. It was also filled with ethiopians (so you know its authentic)

The waitress was super nice and helpful, taking time to explain various dishes. We shared a yefs'g beyaynetu between 2, and it was absolutely delicious.

I was there for a birthday party and found the food boring, bland and cold? No one explained the platter (we didn’t choose so didn’t know what we were eating) and staff seemed shy and standoffish to communicate? I won’t be back, first time and last time there!

The flavour of the food here is amazing! The restaurant is clean and the people are very nice. I’m definitely coming back! I am vegan and love Ethiopian food. I have tried many other Ethiopian restaurants and this one is great!

Amazing. I’ve eaten Ethiopian all over the country, this is by far one of the best I’ve had!Delicious delicious delicious veggie platter. Fresh injara, and big portions!Can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this location
