Madrona Veterinary Housecalls - Gentle Goodbyes in the Comfort of Home
Saying goodbye to our sweet Maggie was truly one of the most difficult things our family has ever gone through. She meant the world to us. Dr. Claire allowed us to let her go in the most comforting, loving and dignified way possible. Our family of four held her in the backyard that she loved, under the big open sky, hugging and petting her and telling her how much we loved her while she drifted away peacefully. That would not have been possible without the selfless work that Dr. Claire does. She was gentle, compassionate, supportive and infinitely patient. We will never forget her kindness and are eternally grateful.

What happened today was unexpected. Even though our beloved dog Ally was really old, we thought we had more time. After scrambling to try to find somebody that could help, Dr. Claire called back. Today was a real blessing. Ally was able to pass peacefully at home on her own bed surrounded by love. Dr. Claire was absolutely great in explaining the process and giving us the time we needed to grapple with the situation. We weren’t rushed, Dr. Claire was compassionate and understanding throughout, and Ally was able to avoid any additional stress or anxiety that would be caused by a vet visit. Thank you Dr. Claire

It was truly an incredible experience. The level of care they provided when it came time to say goodbye to our beloved pup was absolutely exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure that our furry friend was treated with the utmost compassion and respect. We can confidently say that their care was second to none.

Dr.McPhee is an incredibly kind and experienced Veterinarian. I will be forever grateful for the kind and gentle visit we shared on our family dog's final day. Through consultation we decided it was the right time and the final kindness we could offer Ollie as he faced multiple major health issues. From routine visits to a pets toughest times she is a Doctor I know I can count on.

Our cat had cancer and her health unfortunately declined rapidly over the course of a few days. Her vet could not see her but they recommended Madrona Veterinary. Dr. Claire was able to come the next day (even offered same day) to our home. We had never heard of at home euthanasia but liked the idea of our cat passing in the comfort of our home. Dr. Claire was very professional and it was very obvious throughout the whole process that she cared about the comfort of the pet and owners, letting us decide on how fast or slow the process was. I had a lot of questions, doubts, and tears, and she was so patient. After discussing our cats heath and giving us time to say goodbye, she helped our cat pass in my arms. She even took a print of our cats paw for us to keep as a memory of her. Afterwards she dealt with the cremation process which we appreciated. We even received a condolence card a few days later in the mail from her! Would highly recommend due to quality of care, professionalism, patience, and being able to see her on a short notice.

Dr. Clair was exceptionally compassionate and both sensitive to our needs and our cat's. We could not have asked for a better experience of one of the most dreaded things in life--saying goodbye to our beloved fur baby. Thank you Claire!

No words can possibly describe how amazing Dr Claire McPhee is. We recently had to make the decision to put our sweet dog of 13 years down and I reached out to Madrona requesting a next day appointment. She was quick to respond by text and very sweet and compassionate with her response. Upon her arrival, I felt comfort and confidence with our decision to have her come out. She was so caring, sweet, informative, gentle and just an absolute angel. She made the worst situation the best it could possibly be and I truly cannot thank her enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Claire. The world is a better place with people like you. Thank you ❤️

I want to speak out and share with others how absolutely wonderful Dr. Claire McPhee is. Our dog, Max was an extraordinary dog. Not just to us, but to anyone human or canine, who encountered him, worldwide. He deserved the best, most loving care in his last moments, and Dr Claire provided that. She was calm, tender hearted, and gave us time to share our stories. Max was at peace and never felt anything but love and compassion. We want to convey to anyone facing this difficult decision to consider giving this final gift to your beloved friend. Dr Claire certainly is talented and meant to do this important work. Thank you.
