Tommy Gun's Original Barbershop

Terrible experience I don’t know what to say when I got home and realized the side of my hair is uneven, the person who cut my hair was very rough with the razor, it seem like I am her last customer and she was rushing to finished the job I am just disappointed.

I’ve brought my son here since he was 3 and super happy. We tried a few places before but I didn’t like they lined up the front (chopping his cutest curls) causing funny grow in. Like he’s 3, we’re not coming every 4 weeks. They listen so well here and the grow outs nice so we only need to come every 3 months or so. He’s mixed with curly hair and they work well with it and give him a speed line lol. There’s cartoons on it the mirror so he’s kept busy. They set up a seat for me and my 18 m old to watch. Only place I’ll bring him now. Also opens nice and early at 9 and I can call that morning and get us in by 10am, makes it easy when we’re tough to plan schedules.

EDIT (Jan 16, 2022): I had a change of heart. It's not because Tommy Guns gave me anything, but life is too short to be spreading negativity. One bad experience shouldn't define a business or a person. We're human beings, it's natural to make mistakes. It's unreasonable to rate a business a 2/5 stars for one poor experience when they've been 5/5 for every other experience, from their positive and receptive customer service, hot towel massages to the actual haircuts. Experience it yourself because that's the only way of truly knowing.I got a haircut with Fernando today and he cut me to look homeless. My thick curly hair ended up into a scarce frizzy abomination. For a company that states, “For individuals that can not afford a cheap haircut.” I messed up for trusting in the brand. My experience with Fernando was equivalent to paying TOMMY Gun’s price for a cheap haircut.I usually go with Wendy and it’s exceptional every single time. Thus, I thought it translated to the brand of TOMMY Gun’s barbershop having exceptional barbers, but I was so wrong today. I showed Fernando what I wanted, with a picture of the last time I got cut with Wendy (second photo). I told him I didn’t want any off the front and only minor cuts at the back scalp area, with a fade. Fernando proceeds to just cut everything even though I said none off the front. It’s likely that he doesn’t know how to cut curly hair and only straight hair. I end up with a badly blended one side with thin uneven fringe. Honestly it’s my fault for trusting in the brand. It’s just saddening because I’m meeting a ton of people this week. I had a haircut that was not held at a professional standard. The receptionist was exceptional and polite though, and offered me to get a free fix up, but there’s no hair left to fix. I either have to wear a hat or buzz it all off, and I’m sure Fernando would mess that up too. Some of my friends didn’t even recognize me and they clowned me for the haircut. I’ve had my fair share of bad haircuts and Fernando’s definitely ranks as one of the worse.

Anne is great! Had a haircut with her for the first time and she got exactly what I asked for. My hair is not the easiest to handle (as mentioned by previous barbers) cause it's stiff and all over the place but she made it seem easy. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Made sure she got my approval of the cut before leaving the chair. Definitely will book with her as long as she cuts hair in this location.

I’m a regular customer lives nearby. And usually I am happy with the service they provide. However during my recent visit I don’t know why the barber rushed through everything and felt unhappy about what he was doing. Yes I get it it’s almost time to go home, but really you don’t need much effort to make a customer feel welcomed. I can totally relate to one of the previous review which mentioned it seems like the barber felt tired because I was his last customer maybe? A rare but bad experience. Maybe staffs are overwhelmed because of extended working hours? They don’t open until 9 in the past.

Had amazing experience here cutting hair for first time. Alex did a great job with the fade haircut. Although it was past their closing hour 9 pm , didn’t feel the haircut was rushed or anything. Would definitely visit again.

Had one of the worst experiences ever at this Tommy Gun's. The girl barber was sick and they still let her work. Two days later and now I am sick. Strangely enough though, the cut was actually pretty good. So, can't give less stars If staff are ill, send them home! Not impressed with this Tommy Gun's.

I brought my partner in for a bald head shave, as well as a beard clean up and hot towel neck shave. He left with a cut on his head, as well as horrible razor burn/cuts on his neck and chin. For over $100 this is definitely not acceptable. There should be no reason to pay this much money after getting your head cut open during a shave. Maybe another barber could do better but the one we had did not do well at all. Highly disappointed in the results after the price we paid. Nothing was offered to compensate the cuts and burns he received.

So terrible experience today! I don’t even want give one star! Worst than one star! I used their App to check in. And reception called me, said we can do 10 AM or even earlier if the barber finished earlier. Later on I checked App again at Starbucks(the one beside the barbershop). It was showed available now! I went to the shop right after I checked on the App! The time was 9:45 AM. I stepped in, the reception told me I have to wait until 10:20 AM because of my barber just takes another customer. I was asked reception the App was showed NOW Available! Why I have to wait again. Is doesn’t make sense! During the argument, another lady which is barber. She come to me with shaver on hand! Told me my conversation made her feels not safe! But she have shaver on hand and with close to me let me stop talking! I was so disappointed and upset!Later on, the owner of the barbershop was talking with on phone! He said I can either wait or leave! Go to another shop! It was to rude for me! Provided terrible customer service without any apologize! Owner even think I should apologize to his staffs! From the beginning until I left, no one apologize to me! And owner also told me their App is not working correctly! Push the wrong to the Apps developer! So ridiculous! It is the “service” from owner and staffs! Owner and staff are rude and no responsibility!
