The Gathering Place and Revival Centre

My family attended this church for a couple of years around 2010-2012. Now that some time has passed and I have had some time to reflect, I can recognize that this was a very toxic church environment.Their focus on “authority” doctrine and “spiritual warfare” is a combination that leads to unhealthy power structures that can easily be abused. Anyone who disagrees with their parent, pastor, husband (!), etc., can be accused of being under the influence of a “rebellious spirit,” or even “practicing witchcraft.”I think, at least for the most part, this church’s intentions are good. But underneath the surface, there are some very unhealthy dynamics at play here.

Toxic!!! Destroys families and then kicks you out. Churches should be loving and accepting of people all the time not just when it suits them.

Since October is Pastor Appreciation Month, I wanted to publicly say what I have already privately spoken to Pastor Roach. I truly appreciate him and his wife Cheryl, and their ministry, their dedication to their people and constant constant prayer for all of us. I want to honor them and their whole family for the blessing they have all been in my life and in the lives of many others. I respect their devotion to the Lord and to teaching and living what the Scriptures teach. Thank you, and God richly bless you!I have attended The Gathering Place since 2004. I have found a wonderful group of people at this church and leadership who deeply care for the people. They have become my family and I have grown to love them all dearly. The preaching is anointed and the teaching we receive is up-building and uplifting. I have found a new place in the Lord since I first came here and I am so thankful to Him for leading me to The Gathering Place.As to the review below by JD (a nameless/placeless guide for Googlemaps) these comments are spurious. People should do a thorough research before submitting a review for something they have not seen for themselves.

The Gathering Place is a church is a very heart warming place. A place for families to grow and learn truth about the word of God. The Pastor's there are very loving and kind.

The Gathering Place is like another family to me. At this church I was saved and brought out of darkness. My Pastor's are amazing! They work tirelessly in serving God, and loving others. I cannot say enough good about the Gathering Place !!! I have attended here for 18yrs...the support and love I have received from Pastors and friends has been phenomenal. The word of God is preached with authority and His presence is felt. SO THANKFUL FOR MY CHURCH HOME.
