Frida's Mexican Kitchen
During our stay in Ottawa we came across this little gem of a restaurant in the Byward Market. Our family of five were sat outside and was promptly warned that the kitchen was backed up and getting food may be delayed. We really appreciated the honesty and decided to stay and boy was it worth the wait (which wasn't really that long anyways). All of us really enjoyed our meals and definitely would come back to Frida's on our next visit to Ottawa.

Frida’s is a family styled Mexican restaurant. They offer a variety of Mexican dishes. I ordered the quesbirrias, the fish tacos and taco trio. The quesbirrias were delicious. I adore the melted cheese and beef birria. The homemade consommé de birria is a great pairing.Next are the Frida’s Fish Tacos. This was yummy. The fish was lightly battered yet tender and flaky on the inside. I love how fresh all the ingredients are in these tacosLast were the trio of tacos. I got the tinga de pollo (chicken), carne asada (sirloin steak) and al pastor (pork). The tinga de pollo taco was good. Not my favourite but it’s good! The carne asada had a wonderful char flavour. The Al pastor taco was my favourite. It’s charred and served with fresh pieces of pineappleOverall a lovely visit to Frida’s!

Stopped by this restaurant when I just happened to be walking by. I knew as soon as I sat down that the people seemed so genuine and loved the vibe of the place. My mom and I shared the Pico and chips to start. The chips were cooked to perfection and warm and the pick was delicious and sooo fresh. We shared the Quesabirrias and I had high expectations for these… let’s just say my expectations were exceeded. The owner was so nice and the music really set the scene. Definitely the best Mexican food I’ve had in Ottawa and will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family .

Had the fish tacos and the chips with the pico. I thought the food was very fresh tasting and delicious. The price seems a little high for the little portions. The service is a little slow but super friendly. I would give it a 4.4 stars.

We stopped by this place by chance for dinner and ordered white and red sangrias with fish tacos and chicken tacos.It’s a quaint little place with great service and loved the food (especially the fish tacos). Seating on the patio with some indoor seating as well.

Very good tacos, good burrito, and spicy homemade hot sauce.They ran out of chips before dinner service (they open at 4pm) which means no appetisers available. And the waitress only told us once at order time.Seems to only offer outdoor seating, with not a lot of seating.One Waitress for all the tables and she was a bit disoriented.

Very friendly service and quick to serve. The music is great vibes and the food was sooooooooo good. Really enjoyed the quality and prices are great for the location. Drinks were great too and they allow dogs on the patio if you have one.

Stumbled upon this little gem for a quick lunch in downtown ottawa. we were greeted by super friendly staff (i assume it was the owner) who seated us and tookour order immediately. I had the fish tacos while my colleague had the chicken quesadillas.The food was AMAZING! didn’t take long and the portion was great!the guacamole was super fresh and delicious!if you’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant with a super hip + positive vibe, check out Frida’sYou will not be disappointed.Hope to come back again soon!Gracias xoxo
