Ponderosa Campground

After paying 150 to 200 dollars more than our other bookings for this year expecting to use all the extra facilities they have to offer. The pools, water slide, hot tub and splash pad were closed. These things opened on the day we left June 30th, 2022.We were denied guest at the gate. My daughter and her two young children were not allowed to visit even though there were signs around the park instructing guests on certain procedures. We were told only seasonal campers were allowed guests.We were not happy campers.Talked to the manger of park he said there probably would be compensation.Gave us number to head office ,we called ,and of course never returned our call.NO PLACE ON OUR CONTACT DOES IT STATE WE ARE NOT ALLOWED VISITORS.

Friendly, safe and welcoming. This campground is close enough to the big city to attend all the fun events Toronto has to offer, as well, the campground is a great place to relax and enjoy summer days by the pool!Value for $!Recommend this campground.

This campground is quiet and everyone here is so friendly. From my experience, including almost every activity, it's place is perfect for any family.

I give this park less than 1 star! That is all it deserves.The owner, Henry, is the problem. It doesn't take much to set him off. People walk on egg shells for fear of getting him angry. He has no problem throwing seasonal campers out of the park.There is almost no activities for kids. There is only one pool. The second one was filled in. No splash pad, which was promised to us quite a while ago. There is one park with a basket ball net, swings, a slide and some climbing things. They are old and need replacing. I can't believe anyone would give 5 stars!!I was a seasonal camper with a trailer for about 17 years. When I first started there, Melissa and Doug were the owners. I really enjoyed it then. I will never recommend this park to anyone. Some 5 star reviews on here are from people close to Henry.

My Husband and I have been in the Park for over 30 some years, our kids grew up in the park, and they just loved it, the park is very very clean and very well maintained. We all feel very safe in the park, as everyone is just like family to everyone. The owner Henry is a very honest man and fair , Yes if there is trouble he may ask you to leave the park which we all loved that, as that is why we feel very safe . Very good park would recommend to anyone starting out with their families.

I have had the good fortune to have Ponderosa Campground as my summer retreat for several years. The park is my paradise only 45 minutes outside the city limit. I have met lovely people in the park; some I consider very good friends. When you talk to the campers and they tell you they been there for decades... it says so much about the park. The events, every weekend there is something, from themed dances, to Christmas, Easter, Halloween, family day, tournaments, card games, bingo, the list goes on, there is never a dull moment. The staff are very helpful, respectful and courteous, always there to guide you or assist you in your needs. The park facilities are clean and well kept, the park grounds are maintained and beautiful. The pool- refreshing and relaxing, I would recommend this patch of paradise to anyone and everyone, so if you are looking for a fun filled weekend drop on by, it's where everyone is welcome.

Spent August long weekend at the park and it was wonderful. Owner is very nice as well as all the people in the park. Sites are very spacious and the park is very clean. There is a nice pool and a two parks (one for younger kids and one for older) which was great. They do a great job of making everyone feel welcome and put on great events throughout the weekend. We will be going back for sure!

I love this park so much lol I don't know why people are saying everyone is rude nobody is rude unless you are rude to them. and everyone is saying its not family friendly but past a certain time your kids should be in bed not wondering around sounds like a personal issue to me. the community is amazing just be nice to people and you'' see it.
