The reception and staff are super friendly working with what they have!You’re not able to get police checks the same day anymore, instead you can get it emailed to you online within 10 business days or mailed to you by going in person (which takes around 15 business days to receive).My only critique is the lack of communication. I had sent follow up emails after the 10 business days with no replies, and have replied to their inquiries with also no reply. Then the day I decided to go into the office to get an update, I got emailed the police check emailed to me while in line. The check also got delivered a little past 10 business days but it felt like 3 weeks because of the May holiday and them being closed on Thursday’s (which wouldn’t count as a ‘business’ day).They’re currently processing applications submitted May 23rd (when I checked on June 2nd) so they’re delayed by around a week.So submit your application early and expect delays! Staff is super considerate in answering questions and working with the existing system though!

Getting an alarm permit, they opened up a new window for me so I didn't have to wait 2 hours with everyone else to pay my $30. Excellent service.

My wife had to get her 3 year criminal check for her early learning childhood job. It took about 20 minutes and the staff were friendly and courteous. The application was easy to fill in but some of questions were ambiguous so had to clarify with the person who actually helped. They were efficient and we were very satisfied with the service. The only complaint I have is that finding a parking spot was next to impossible, the majority of spots are reserved for the businesses there.

Great experience in getting information regarding criminal record check for employment. Bernice was so friendly and patient in answering all questions.

I’ve gotten criminal record checks for a few different reasons and most of the time it has gone well.I definitely would suggest to anyone going that you should give yourself over an hour for the wait in line plus the actual time it takes to be helped. This is not a quick errand!The last time I went I waited in the comically long line up that was there the moment the door opened at 8am, and (after 30 mins) when I got to the front the lady all but forced me to take a booklet to apply for my record check online instead of allowing me to apply in person like I asked repeatedly, and which is why I drive across the city. Then after I apply online, my vulnerable check is not completed because they deemed my reasons for the check were not sufficient for that level of check. So then I had to go back downtown again to reapply for my check and after breaking down in front of two different employees they finally gave me my vulnerable sector check which I needed to apply for school, so in the end I got what I needed which I am thankful for.The staff there work super hard to do their jobs well. I definitely think they are understaffed though, there should be 3-4 staff checking people in at least considering they are busy from the moment their doors open

Front desk staff need a course on customer service and respect. Clearly they can’t handle the job at hand. Both the front desk lady and her boss talk to individuals in condescending tones. Hard to communicate with the staff when they are disrespectful. The front desk lady was very rude to several People who’s first language is clearly not English. She then decides to be rude to be right after which I’m not professional. Based on all of the reviews about her she should be terminated from the publicly fund position!

I came from east side of edmonton almost 30 minutes drive in rush hours, arrived at 3.45pm still got 15 minutes before closing. The lady at front desk told me we are closing in few minutes and our staff is too busy and they cannot take fingerprints, come back tomorrow. I saw there was no line and not even a single customer in front of any officers. If they dont accept any customers when 15 or 30 minutes left to close for the day, they should say that part in advance by saying we don't work in last hour of closing. This is 3rd time, i have bad experience with this location. The staff think they are the boss here and they can treat the customers in any way they want it. They are public employees not a private, hence the service every citizen expect here to be excellent not poor.

Very friendly staff. I went in at 3.50 pm to get an alarm permit, and the office closes at 4. I paid for my permit, and I was out before 4. Thank you!

Took a bus ride for an hour just to be told in person I can do everything online and that there is less waiting time. Where is that said on any website? Amazing service, I would waste my time again!
