True North Basketball Academy - Edmonton

I would not recommend. The 8 to 9 year old Saturday class has 50 children registered. My daughter spends the first 15 minutes sitting waiting only to be moved to the other side of the gym for more waiting. No actual skill development. If you don't select that you're attending the class in their app you won't be allowed to class. It is a given we are going to attend the classes.. weve registered and paid for it.. Want to talk to someone?? their desk is ran by a bunch of 14 year olds. Would not recommend and there are plenty of other skill development programs in the city

The TNBA youth basketball is an outstanding program. They teach sportsmanship and good values to their kids in the program. With my background as a former Division 1 athlete in the US, I was invited to speak to the kids in the program about my journey from scholar athlete to my career now. Coach Alex wanted a message that would be empowering and inspiring to the kids of his program. The kids were respectful and attentive to my message. I really appreciate the respect and courtesy that was shown to me both by Coach Alex, the kids and their parents. I would highly recommend this program not only to build your child’s basketball skills but also to build your child’s confidence.

Well, the money wasn't cheap, but I can't say my kids learned a skill that was as efficient as the tuition fee.The coaches are seen as teenagers and play with kids rather than teach skill and don't actually get enough chance to get the ball because of the large number of players. Above all, the owner is very rude and his attitude towards parents is insensitive. He had frequent class changes and did not give enough notice in advance. If there had a teenagers game, the younger kids class is suddenly changed just few days before.And the unkind owner kicks parents out, not wanting kids parents to come in for even a moment to help packing the children's bag. Poor parents have to wait for their children, huddled close to the glass door.

As one of the best players at TNBA I enjoy every aspect of training with Coach Alex and the rest of the Coaching staff.

We registered our 6-year old daughter for the 10-week summer camp. Of the 10 weeks, 8 are for practice and 2 are pick up games. The experience overall was okay up until we came to one of the games. One of the coaches for the pick up games (a father of one of the other kids) was unfair for playing time. Our daughter was the only female there and he subbed her out 3/4 of the times during the game while not taking some of the other kids out at all. This left a bad taste in our mouths wondering if that’s how she was treated during the rest of the time that we weren’t allowed to stay and watch (parents are only allowed to stay for game days and are left to watch Facebook live for practices). While our daughter was able to learn and pick up some skills during this camp, that last game was very disappointing. We won’t be back

Currently I have 3 of my children playing at TNBA and we all love it. The growth I see in all my children on and off the court with skills to self esteem and confidence is amazing. The competitive edge is perfect and the conditioning and training is beyond comparable. All the coaches have a love for the athletes and the game. It is the Best basketball in the city by far. The bonds and friendships made at TNBA are indescribable; it’s like family.

As parents, we are so pleased with the TNBA program and the opportunities for our teenage son to learn this sport and values such a discipline, resiliency, hard work, commitment, team work and confident that help him to get the best from him. Our son has become a full motivated athlete and willing to face new challenges every week that he attends his practices and games. We like the safe and respectful environment at the academy and about the price; we truly think this program worth every cent we invest in our son.

My daughter goes here and I’ve never seen her more excited to play basketball. She absolutely loves it, and I encourage you guys to send your kids here if you are looking for an amazing program! My daughter had also improved tons in both skill and endurance and just game experience in general. The coaches and kids have become a family to her, and I’m so glad I sent her here.

TNBA is a great basketball academy for all ages from beginner to elite. I love how diverse the program is and the opportunities it creates for my kids. They have progressed so much since attending this academy.

Both my children attend True North Basketball Academy, the program and team is top notch. My children learn the fundamentals of the game and in addition play in a competitive team environment which allows them to grow as players.The coaches teach the value of hard work and how it transcends the court into every day life. 1-2-3 WORK!!
