We purchased a property in Manotick knowing that septic system would need a replacement, and commissioned a design right away. Jeff was recommended by a trusted colleague, and I reached out right away to quote based on the approved design. He wasn't the only one bidding on the job, but he was the the only person who genuinely appeared to care about the homeowner's needs whilst still coming in at a reasonable price point.When all was said and done, I could not have been happier with the process beginning to end. This is as turn key" as complex excavation jobs get. Jeff is down to earth and knows what he's doing. We were able to tweak some job parameters along the way

We hired Jeff to re-grade our property, when we realized a previous owner's DIY project had altered the grade to the point water was coming into the basement. Jeff was patient, thorough, and truly went above and beyond our expectations. Jeff didn't just show up with some machinery and do the job we thought we needed, but provided us with insight and advice on how to fix the underlying problem. All that and he came in under budget on his original quote. Truly a five-star performance.

Not your typical contractor who wants to finish the job before they arrive. The task wasn't easy nor could have been done with light duty equipment.He commits to his schedule, executes the work professionally, his equipment is top notch and he takes the time to explain the details of the work before the job commences. We bought vacant land and purchased a pre-fab home, this meant we were responsible for all the site work. Not only were we living out of town, we had never built a house and had no idea where to start. We contacted several contractors to get some direction and pricing, I found J.D. Duke on the internet and based on the google reviews called him. Jeff is by far the best contractor we have ever worked with, he spent an incredible amount of time walking us through the process, helping with permits and over the last year coming back and forth to do the work at various stages of the project. It started with helping clear the lot to install the driveway, a pad for the crane, excavating for the foundation, installing drainage, trenches for utilities/well, septic, grading and landscaping. We relied on his expertise and advice to make decisions and everything always worked out. He kept us informed and when we couldn’t be there even sent pictures so we could see the progress.Jeff was patient, honest, helpful and professional and somehow managed to complete everything while were working within our tight budget. Having his expertise and support from beginning to end was invaluable to us. I actually don’t think we could have completed the project without having him as our contractor. We highly recommend Jeff for any project.

Jeff and his crew were great to work with from start to finish. He dealt with all the necessary paperwork and when on site took the time to talk to us and update us on the progress. Would recommend him to anyone looking for good quality work at a reasonable price.

First things first. THEY DO NOT STOP WORKING! I have never seen someone who literally goes non stop! Had Jeff in to do my new septic system and it was done ahead of schedule and under budget! Wonderful work, everything was cleaned up. Would 100% recommend.

If I could give 6/5 stars I would, I rarely leave google reviews but felt compelled to leave one here. Jeff took care of our septic, grading and backfill and I am floored at the high quality level of service, dedication, expertise. He is extremely knowledgeable, even made much needed corrections according to code and regulations which our engineering firm missed but of course Jeff caught and the health unit inspector was very happy with the changes. He kept things within my budget, despite material price increases and many many more loads needed than anticipated. He went over the call of duty to ensure the septic bed blends in nicely with the rest of the land and has the perfect grade for drainage. I would not choose anyone else!!! Seriously amazing service.

In mid September of 2022 I was in need of a septic system contractor to replace our failed system.We really lucked out when I heard about JD Duke Excavation.When I spoke to Jeff, he told me he was booking for mid November.His quote was one of the best prices, but It was also the most detailed and had fewer exclusions than the rest of the quotes we looked at.We chose Jeff to do the job and couldn’t have made a better decision!On time and on budget, and also a fair price for some extra driveway rebuilding that wasn’t in the quote request.Throughout the job, Jeff kept me apprised of the progress of the work and answered any questions I had.I definitely recommend Jeff

After several contractors were contacted to replace our Waterloo Biofilter Shed only J D Duke were up for the challenge. Everything from the initial investigation, through to obtaining the permit sign off was stress free. We were kept informed at all stages and when unforeseen issues arose Jeff worked through the issue for a satisfactory result at no extra cost.
