Cloverdale Paint

Great people and great products.

Rented a sprayer here. The first one they gave me was a dud, which took me a couple hours to figure out, however when I took it in they gave me a new one double checked it and then comped to rental. Excellent service from Jeremy and they actually know about the paint.

I am pretty unimpressed with the service I received. I am a contractor and I went to Cloverdale paints to have my sprayer serviced and the priming hose replaced. I came back in pick up my sprayer after being told the servicing had been completed one month later. The priming hose had not been replaced.(Although the sprayer had been cleaned and I am quite pleased with that aspect of this experience.) I asked that Cloverdale replaced my priming hose before I would pay for the servicing and pick my sprayer up. One month later I called to ask if the work on my sprayer had been completed. As it turns out after I came into ask for the priming hose to be replaced, my sprayer was accidentally sent up to Nanaimo. Accidents happen - no worries. I called the Nanaimo store to ask them to send it back down to Victoria and while I was on the phone I asked them to check if the priming hose had been fixed, they assured me it was. As it turned out, I needed my sprayer before Cloverdale would be able to send it back to Victoria so I decided to drive up to Nanaimo to pick it up. Upon picking it up, I discovered the priming hose has not been replaced as promised for the second time. Fast forward two weeks, I go back into Cloverdale paints in Victoria to pick up an O-ring for my sprayer and see if they would finally replace my priming hose. They did not have a new one in stock so they gave me a used one for free. Telling me it was used but would work just fine. I connected the priming hose to my sprayer to find that the one Cloverdale gave me was occluded. To summarize a long story short, disregarding accidentally sending my sprayer to Nanaimo, I am thoroughly unimpressed with the time it has taken for the job I initially asked to take place to not be completed.

Very helpful staff. They got me well on my way on a project even though I knew almost nothing about painting. Great colour matching service. They also keep records of big painting projects in the city that used their paint so that colour matching does not even have to rely on guesswork. Whip out your BCAA card for huge discounts.

We hired a painter to prep, seal and stain our two sun decks. For whatever reason the stain failed. Without any hesitancy Cloverdale fully backed their product and offered any help we might need in the future. My wife and I are truly grateful for their support.

The prices are very high, even with my contractor discount. A quick check of the big box stores confirms I can get primer, drop clothes, etc at much cheaper prices. I also wanted to do a check with some of their competitors and soon found a discount over Cloverdale of 20-25% at Sherwin Williams for equal or better paintI think a lot of people just blindly go to Cloverdale. I would love to support a BC company, but paying a lot more for nothing just isn't going to happen.I gave it 2 stars as the service has always been good

The man I spoke to was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I did not feel pressured at all to buy anything extra. Their mistint selection in the back corner is fantastic. This gets you five gallons for not much more than the cost of one gallon. Their paints also coat very well so you don't need 4 coats.

Great service! When I misjudged what colour I needed, they helped me adjust it and gave me some advice about how to get the effect I was looking for.

A bright and beautiful store. There was very helpful staff. Great if you know exactly what you're going for for paint. Not a big selection of stains.
