Great mother/daughter time spent at Play with Clay on Locke St. Took a wheel class and we threw 3 pieces. The instructor Brittney (hope I spelled her name correctly) was an amazing teacher…very patient, knowledgeable and calm. We came back for some hand building. Again, Brittney and the rest of the amazing staff gave helpful tips and encouragement. Cozy, relaxing atmosphere, recommend to anyone who wants to begin learning about pottery.

I've always wanted to learn how to make things with clay and Christina was the perfect teacher for a first timer on the wheel. It was such a memorable experience and she was so patient teaching us how to make plates and vases. Can't wait to go back to paint them :)

A lovely environment and lovely staff! I visited with my friends as a post-exam activity and had an amazing time. There were lots of selections and the cost of the ceramic chosen also covered the paint, materials, and time we spent painting! Will definitely return. The playlist is also so good!!

Lovely place! Most of the Christmas presents I gave out I made in the 8 week wheel course and let me tell ya, the recipients were all impressed! Isabelle is an amazing teacher and the welcoming, fun environment can’t be beat! Highly recommend learning to make pottery here!

I took a one-hour pottery lesson with Isabelle and it was a fantastic learning experience! Thank you, I have such a great time! Would definitely recommend if clay is something you’re interested in exploring :)Edit: included a photo of the finished product, I’m so happy with them!

i never write reviews but i truly had such a fun time here. the staff was so kind & helpful no one rushes you. the vibe of the spot is so nice and cozy the music is so good as well really calming. and they have lots of space and seating options. 24$ per mug with paint, oven baking, & glaze included that’s so worth the experience and is quite reasonable compared to other pottery shops. the area of this spot is nice too located around cute resturants. i want to go back!!

I took an 8 week wheel throwing workshop here and it was an incredible experience. Our teacher was kind, patient, and attentive to all of us as we learned this new medium. We had lots of time each class to practice and create our pieces. The workshop space is comfy and you have all the tools and clay you may need for use. We learned all the basics of throwing, trimming, and glazing, of which you have the opportunity to go back anytime to continue painting and glazing your pieces. The painting and glazing area is a fun space to explore your creativity. I ended with about 20 pieces! Wheel throwing can be such a meditative practice, and was a good experience for me to let go of control and immerse myself into the clay in the moment. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an immersive experience to try something new!

Absolutely love the whole experience at Play with Clay. My son and I have been making pieces with the lessons given to us by the wonderful staff. We aim to go every 2 weeks to do the next step on our pieces. I am blown away by how caring and sweet these ladies are. What a great place this is!

Love the idea of this place. We made our own pottery from clay. It was a great experience for the most part. They don’t seem to have a system to find your pottery, which is worrying. They did end up finding our pottery, then told us all the info about paints what to do and not to do. We painted our mugs very basic. When we picked up the colours had completely ran. It looked like tie dye. We were massively disappointed. This is something that should be expressed and shown how to avoid.
