This place gets you as close to Louisiana style cooking as any. There’s a hint of local cuisine with our produce.Jambalaya with the spices is bringing tears as I write. The flavours carry what you expect.Dessert…if you don’t try the their bananas foster, you missed out.

Service was amazing! Jess was our server she’s the best. The crab cakes were delicious so as the ribs. Extremely flavorful would highly recommend.I was a little disappointed with the Chicken Paneed and the coconut shrimp. They were a bit bland.

My wife and I had the perfect experience at Restaurant La Louisiane. We had reserved a table and were given our choice of tables when we arrived. It was right at opening at 5:30 so it wasn't very busy yet and our server took our order very quickly. It may be a small thing, but this restaurant is one that uses glass carafes instead of metal, so the water tasted perfect. Metal carafes tend to make the water taste awful. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer and they were served quickly. They were delicious and perfectly cooked. For our entrees we both ordered the blackened fish with Cajun rice. The seasoning was perfect and the fish, which seemed like it was salmon, was tender and complemented the rice very nicely. We decided we'd try a dessert as well and went with the Bananas Foster, something we'd both never had before. We loved this so much! There was a caramelized brown sugar rum sauce that really satisfied my sweet tooth, soft banana slices and quality vanilla ice cream. After all of that we were comfortably full and sat a while and talked and enjoyed the jazzy music before paying and leaving. It really was the perfect experience and I can't wait to visit again to try other dishes. The dinosaur ribs are something I definitely want to try.Thank you, Restaurant La Louisiane for a great experience.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. What a disappointment. I have been going to La Louisiane for over a decade and in all this time this has been the worst experience. Let me break it down. The food: like many places the menu has been reduced. There is still some of the favourites but many are not there. I ordered the blackened fish and I was only able to eat half because it was so undercooked it was practically still swimming. I ordered the lemon tort with raspberry coulees and was served the lemon tort buried under caramel. When I asked to make sure they gave us the right dessert they said they had run out of raspberry and just added caramel (without asking if that was okay.) They also had no milk for the coffee and didn’t seem bothered by that.Service: They used to be the pinnacle of great service, now the staff doesn’t know what goes into a coffee. When they realized they messed up the dessert they proceeded to ignore the table. I had to ask to have the table cleared and waited for over an hour for the bill. All in all I would never go back. They have taken one of NDG’s best restaurants and turned it into a hole in the wall. Disappointing

Update: still delicious and adventurous!Keep it up!Delicious food and great selection of wines. The service is always polite and fast.Tonight, my friend didn’t enjoy her plate and they replaced it right away with another choice on the menu.We enjoyed hot food on the terrace and delicious drinks. Overall, it was a good time.I’ll be back soon.

Very charming and friendly staff. The best part were the dessert! Very big portions and delicious! My favourite was the banana foster.I suggest trying the hush puppies or cornbread if you haven't had any before :)

We ate there for the 2nd time this month on Friday. Love the atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff. Food was awesome. When they were closed for the pandemic, we ordered take-out several times and the care that was taken with the food & packaging was obvious. Love sitting at the bar and chatting with Diana. Definitely the place to go if your spirits need a lift.

I haven’t been to La Louisiane since I was a child. I didn’t know what to expect since I don’t remember my last visit. That to say the food was amazing. I had the paneed chicken dish and it was delicious. Along with the bread pudding for dessert. Bathrooms were also in really great condition. This is a great place for a family night or even a date!

We had a lot of fun at this restaurant. The service we received was top notch and the food was tasty. The waitress was attentive and had good timing throughout the night. We sat outside at the patio as the weather was great. We started with grilled cornbread, crab croquettes, and garlic chicken wings. The crab croquettes actually had real crab meat, the chicken wings were great, while the cornbread was too sweet for a starter, but still good. For our mains, we ordered meat jambalaya, seafood pastalaya, and Lou's fried chicken - this one comes as 3 pieces but we added an extra piece for $5.50. For the mains, everything was cooked well, the flavor was there, but I find that it lacked the spices for the jambalaya & pastalaya. Now, the desserts were pretty amazing. We got the banana foster which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a buttery, brown sugar rum sauce. They were quite generous with the sauce which made it very sweet, and I have a sweet tooth! We also got a double chocolate bourbon pecan pie. This was perfection. Overall, this is a unique cuisine in Montreal and I highly recommend you trying them out.
