Our daughter has been attending Kindermusik classes with Flora for just over a year now. It has been a truly wonderful experience for the whole family. As parents, we enjoy the classes just as much as our little girl does! Flora is an amazing teacher - always extremely engaged and attentive. She really makes each child and their family feel special. Each class is full of music, learning, and activity. We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Kindermusik program and Flora, especially! I would highly recommend this program, and the Markham Music Academy, in particular, to anyone looking to introduce and encourage a love for music in their child.

Ms. Flora Lim came into our family 5 years ago, when our son decided that he wanted to learn the flute. Since then, Flora has played an integral part in inspiring our 3 children to have a love for music. Her passion, dedication and patience along with her warmth and kindness is such gift. Flora has a way of connecting with you through her music, her teachings and her life experiences everyday at her Studio. Her music is calm, passionate, expressive and deeply moving. Flora has a way of teaching her students to appreciate life and express emotion through the beauty that music has to offer.

Flora's Thrive Music Studio is a creative Musical GEM in the heart of original historical downtown Markham Village. Thrive Music studio's teachings not only foster one's love for music but the personal growth of each learner. For the past 4 years, my boys and our family have benefited greatly from the experience and relationship we have built with Flora and The Studio. Not only are my boys learning about the technical aspects of playing music through Flora's wonderful and skilled teachings but it has also fostered their sense of fraternity, compassion, and kindness with others. Thrive Music Studio with its' artistically skilled and compassionate orchestral conductor, Flora Lim, is exactly what makes Thrive Music Studio a polished GEM worth discovering. THRIVE ON!!!

We have known Ms Lim for over 3 years and have been a part of both Kindermusik and piano classes.Her Kindermusik classes are so enjoyable! She teaches the kids to practise patience and develop their musical ear while at the same time having so much fun! We always leave her classes in a good mood.Her piano classes are much more intense but stimulate students to learn through enjoyment of music. She goes above and beyond to ensure each person understands the lessons and concepts introduced. We have never met anyone more willing to help families flourish through music.We whole-heartedly recommend Thrive Music Studio!

Thrive Music Studio has been the starting point for both my son and daughter’s musical journey and we’re so happy that we found this incredible gem in the heart of Markham. We have now been with this wonderful studio for four years!Ms. Lim the founder and teacher at Thrive Music Studio truly loves what she does and every class you see her passion shine and encourage not only her students but as well as the parents. Ms. Lim is a professional who is extremely qualified in what she does and is a teacher who cares deeply for the well being of her students and parents.Students at Thrive Music have the opportunity to learn music but also develop life skills that are needed in their day to day activities like people skills, teamwork and leadership skills. Ms. Lim is such a wonderful teacher. She is very enthusiastic about her piano teaching. Very ambitious and talented. She has been especially great during this unprecedented situation by accommodating efficiently to the new virtual learning environment. It was a big challenge for us but she was very patient, understanding and always ready to help. She's a creative person and always comes with great ideas that makes learning piano a lot of fun for my daughter.

My daughter joined the studio when she was 5 years old. Flora has been teaching her piano for about 5 years now and her enthusiasm has not faded, even during our early Sunday morning classes. When we were faced with the pandemic, our lessons transitioned to a virtual platform seemlessly. Flora still keeps challenging her to grow and expand her skills through our weekly online lessons. She is not only taught how to play the correct notes but to enjoy the story told through the music she creates. Flora uses various teaching methods to keep her students engaged while fostering their love for music. We are so fortunate to have you as our teacher Ms. Lim and we can't wait to get back into the studio. Thank you!

Miss Lim is nothing less than fantastic! Her enthusiasm and encouragement are really inspiring! My daughter has loved going to her music classes, the content is 100% appropriate to her age and Miss Lim is ever mindful and willing to make adjustments for the wellbeing of the children. Truly a gem!

Flora has been enriching my kids with music for more than five years now. We first started in Kindermusik where my kids experienced the joy of music through singing, instruments, story and dance. It was a great bonding experience between parent and child. Flora encourages creativity throughout the entire time and further supplements with digital at home materials.My older child has “graduated” from Kindermusik and joined the group piano classes. At first, I was concerned that she would be missing 1:1 attention but Flora doesn’t miss a beat in giving each child the attention they need and the kids get to learn from each other (ie learn from each other’s mistakes and successes). She makes learning piano fun and my child looks forward to practicing her new pieces and songs as Play a Story really encourages each student to make the song their own but still practicing a rhythm. With the pivot to virtual, Flora has transitioned quickly and has continued to give the kids a sense of community with movie nights and cookie baking ... all virtually. She also continued to enrich the students’ lives with not only music but life lessons on growth mindset and positive thinking through engaging videos and guidance on discussion questions. It’s been truly an amazing experience!

Our child's musical journey began with Thrive Music Studio when she turned two, and we couldn't be happier with this incredible studio. Ms. Lim, the founder and teacher has created such a warm and nurturing environment. We are genuinely grateful for everything.Ms. Lim's passion for what she does and her love for the children shines through in every class. Not only does she instill a deep appreciation for music, but she also teaches them essential discipline. It's heartwarming to see how much our child adores Ms. Lim and looks forward to every session. She always asks for more, which is a testament to the wonderful connection they have.As our journey continues, we look forward to exploring different classes that are suitable for our child's age. When the time comes, we hope to enroll her in piano lessons as well.
