Truly a hidden gem of a person and an establishment. Ryan is thoroughly knowledgeable, being a player himself, he is very honest with his opinion. I saved a lot of money compared to Hockey life (nearly gave up playing the game because of the cost) & SportChek still expensive and limited in availability.I would surely recommend a beginner as he has both new and used material.Wish him the best.

Go here for hockey equipment! It’s by appointment and Ryan had everything ready when I arrived to try on. He helped me out with my daughters skates and helmet. He is super knowledgeable and great with kids. Plus he had lots of insight if you are just getting into Mississauga hockey. There’s nothing for trade in equipment in North Mississauga so it was super convenient to not have to drive far. Pricing is totally on par and the customer service is worth every penny. Sure new is nice (which they do carry) but something is to be said about saving some hard earned money on a quality piece of used equipment. The fact that hockey equipment has skyrocketed in recent years is grotesque but Ryan and the team at Affordable Athletics has stayed true to their name and offers a quality and unique service that will cater to all hockey players and parents alike! Drove from Scarborough to get a full set of new equipment for my sister to learn how to play. Ryan was extremely helpful and patient in helping us pick the right gear. Ended up getting everything we needed and more for an extremely reasonable price. The store was clean and all the used gear is sanitized and sterilized so there is no smell. All their gear is online so you can make sure they have what you need first. Well worth the drive and will be back again!
