Very professional and thorough. They replaced my awful sunken concrete stairs with beautiful wood ones as well as fixed my very crooked awning over the door. I had a detailed quote and contract signed before work began and was informed during all parts of the job from start to finish.The quality is top notch and the finished product is really masterfully built.Very easy to talk to and honest about the job. I would definitely recommend them and welcome them back for another job.

Recently hired S.T.E.P. Construction to replace my old and crumbling front staircase. Barry and Cole are a very friendly, thorough, knowledgeable and hard working team. The stairs turned out better than anticipated and have added so much curb appeal to my home. We definitely recommend them for any renovation or construction projects. Great service!

Thank you Barry and Cole for a great experience with our new front steps and backyard deck! They demolished our front steps that were pulling off an exterior wall and replaced them with some gorgeous wood steps, hiding a gaudy stucco patch that had been poorly done years ago. They also built a deck in just a few days! Highly recommend working with this great, creative and professional team.

After numerous emails back and forth last September 2022 trying to get a proper quote, was told I may not be booked until November. I have never heard back from them to this day (July 2023). Unprofessional.

My front concrete steps were crumbling and beyond repair. I called S.T.E.P. for an estimate and they explained very well what the best option was. They removed the old crumbling concrete steps and replaced them with wood. They are very polite and explain things well, they are hard workers, they keep the work area clean and accessible and they do excellent carpentry work. Had Barry and Cole come in to fix our main interior stairs, that were literally falling apart. House is a 1.5 storey home built in the 50’s. They did a fantastic job building replacement stairs and improving on the original layout. The stairs are now much safer.Up front and honest, they made sure I knew what I was being charged for and what was optional/could be DIY to save money.They used quality materials and even redid some work they were not completely satisfied with, showing pride in their work. They also warranty their work, although I’m not sure for how long.Clean up was good and they were very friendly to our dog!Will definitely use them again if I need any future stair work.

My front concrete steps were crumbling pretty bad and every place I called gave me the run around about how they don't do stairs. When i finally found the S.T.E.P. Construction website the pictures of their past work caught my eye so I called them up. They came by to give an assessment and recommended jack-hammering the concrete stairs and replacing it with wood. The quote they gave me was very affordable so I approved it and they went to work. They were very professional and stayed well within the quote. My new stairs look great and are much safer.Thanks for all your hard work!

We initially contacted Barry and Cole to have our concrete steps potentially covered with wood. Over the phone Cole explained what could and couldn’t be done with concrete step coverings depending on the condition of the stairs. They came by the next day to inspect the stairs and talk with us about what we were looking for.Our stairs were too far gone in terms of crumbling and sinking; they needed a complete removal. At our request, Cole provided two quotes depending on if we wanted to attempt to DIY the concrete demolition ourselves or not.It’s easy to tell how much pride this pair takes in their work. The quality of the finished product is fantastic and it’s so nice to not be worried going up and down the front steps. They were easy to work with and we’ll be contacting them in the future when we run into other projects that require master carpentry.

The S.T.E.P. Construction team removed our crumbling cement steps and replaced with pressure treated wood steps. The new steps are excellent: solid, sturdy, and nice looking. These guys did quality work, completed on time and at the expected cost. They kept us in the loop and were easy to contact, quick to respond to emails and all around friendly throughout. It was an excellent contractor experience. We would definitely hire again for a suitable project.
