I was happy with the work Modhaus has done as Smoking Lily. Janice helped design both our Vancouver and Victoria retail shops and over the years to has helped keep the shops up to date. She is excellent at choosing colours that work well with in each space and her lay out skills are innovative. Sourcing materials, finding skilled people where needed and keeping in budget are her magic. I would definitely hire Modhaus Interior Design again.

I am so glad that we worked with Janice on our kitchen renovation. She provided excellent design advice, product sourcing, paint colours, along with the requisite calming presence.Our contractor and Janice collaborated well, especially when challenges arose in our 100+ year old house.I relied on Janice to make many of the dozens of design decisions...she was so helpful.I never thought I would need a designer, but I will use Modhaus Design again for future renovations for peace of mind and a beautiful result.

In 2015, my husband and I were facing a huge renovation that involved gutting the entire house down to the studs. We hired Janice, at Modhaus, who handled the whole project. She did the design, helped us choose a contractor, worked with the contractor and trades and arranged all the decorative aspects such as fixtures, colours and furnishings etc.Janice was great to work with; she's pleasant, tactful, knowledgeable, patient and has a great eye. She spent time understanding our needs, desires, the way we live and our different styles. Somehow, she was able to mesh our different styles so the house reflects us both and the way we live. We both LOVE the house, it turned out perfectly! Guests always comment how beautiful, personal and unique it is. Janice was also able to mix our old furniture with a few new pieces to give us an 'up to date' feel in the house. She's a genius at sourcing interesting furniture at reasonable prices.Some designers have their own style, their signature look, then all their work ends up looking the same; your house reflects them, not you. Janice does NOT do that! She worked to ensure the house was ours and reflected us. I think that's the best thing a designer can do.We are very pleased with our reno and the whole experience was enjoyable and painless. We'll most definitely use Janice for any future design projects, we wouldn't consider anyone else
