I tried this restaurant on the recommendation of some neighbors in my building and man oh man, am I ever thankful for the recommendation!The food was authentic, beautifully presented and delicious! I also thought it was great value for the money.As with almost all my reviews, it's the staff who make or break the customer service experience. The staff here are equally as amazing as the food is good. Very friendly, attentive and genuinely appreciative of my business.I can't wait to return and I cannot recommend this place enough! Loved it!

First time coming here .The guy who sat us down asked if it is our first time I reply yes he gave us a paper menu for the feature items and a scanner to scan the online menu.We ordered our food by showing photos of other peoples photos . We overheard that it was happy hour and I wasn’t aware they even have happy hour , that was upsetting because I would’ve order off the happy hour menu .It took long for our refill by the time we got our refill we were done our food.The food was goodThe deep fried squid we got was very soggy 4/10The noodle dish we got 8.5/10Short ribs 8.5/10Fries 7/10

What a lovely time! I've been meaning to check this place out for some time & I'm so glad I did! We had the pressed sushi which was spectacular. The flavour, texture & structure of each was perfect (rice not too hard or mushy). We also ordered the okonomiyaki, which was so nice & the shaka shaka fries - classic! On the pricey side, but definitely worth it to check it out & support local! Will be back soon, that I know for sure!

Our favourite sushi spot on Edmonton. The food is always fresh and delicious, service is wonderful and very friendly. I'd suggest doing a Sake Bomb for the experience! We've tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all. Some of the favorites are TNT roll, pressed salmon roll, tuna tatake and their fries. Absolutely recommend this place, interior design is funky and the music is always interesting

*Food*Tokayaki (10/10): An explosion of flavors. Extremely delicious, its a must if it's your first time there.Sockeye Salmon Press (9/10): Fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. Loved the dish, I tried topping it off with Salmon sashimi, it wasn't a bad idea!Curry Rice (8/10): really good plate, I don't regret ordering it, though I think going to an authentic Japanese restaurant for the first time, I should try something more traditional. Loved the dish though!Fried chicken (8/10): its deep deep fried, but super good. Recommend to add a lemon squeez and spicy mayo to every bite, worth the work!*Service*Lovely and friendly staff, always checking up on us and making sure we're enjoying the experience.*Atmosphere*Loved the place. Original, unique, stylish, and gives true Japanese vibes.A place to visit again for sure!

Really great vibes and a different experience compared to the one on Whyte.The staff was friendly, food was good, and drinks... also good! I think the deserts could use a revamp (in my opinion). Would definitely recommend checking out and even sitting at the bar having a drink and a snack would be an experience (even solo)!

Ordered only off of their seasonal (paper) menu.The wait staff was really friendly and welcoming, especially our server (guy with water bottle refill in hand)I see omurice on the outside fake food display cabinet, would definitely want to come back if they have it on their menu.Definitely enjoyed everything, below is a short rating for all the dishes I tried (in reverse photo order):Uni Mentaiko Udon - very rich and creamy with delicious garnishes, only thing to be aware of was that it was heavy on the pepper tasting sideOknomiyaki - deliciously made with an runny egg topping and bits of crunchy tempura. The beef is shredded and mixed within the lettuce and pink ginger pancake batter. A little overwhelming and intense on the taste sometimes with all the favour mixturesYakitori skewers:- A4 Wagyu beef - rich and melt in your mouth tasting, paired with real grated wasabi (shocking as real wasabi is quite expensive)- chicken - tender and juicy with a nice charred flavor and fresh spring onion- pork - good pork belly cut, pepper garnish looked nice- shrimp - one of the best tasting skewers here with wonderfully tender and grilled with a really nice oil on topKatsu on a sticks: overall, the panko was slightly overfried so it was on the edge of developing an unpleasant charred taste and it was quite crispy to the point of being sharp- chicken - unseasoned inside the batter, needed sauce, and seemed to be a bit more dry than it's yakitori counterpart- pork - standard pork Katsu on a stick, one of the best ones here- scallop - imagine sashimi scallops with a crunchy exterior, amazing flavour and texture combination- shitake mushrooms - great mushroom taste, would go very well with beer- zucchini - fried zucchini, crispy with a soft and juicy interiorPanna cotta dessert - great presentation, could really taste the sake and loved that combination with the lychee and raspberry fruits. The decorative paper under the glass vessel was surpringly a page ripped out of a manga !!

Service and atmosphere of the place are awesome. I ordered the sake bomb and the server did a whole show before drinking it. The food wasn’t that good though I didn’t try many things. I got the Shoya ramen, toro pressed sushi and miso broth. Miso was good though. Felt the sushi had lots more rice than fish

Highly recommend!! Great prices for great food!! The staff were amazing as well.We ordered a great selection of appetizers and main, and my absolute favourite was the chicken karaage and calamari (both appetizers and had a big portion for a great price). All of the food we ordered was absolutely amazing and greatly filled all of our stomachs -- and we devoured all of them fr. Our waiter was also great and fun and very patient with our group of 8. The food came at an appropriate time and our overall experience at dorinku was A+. The drinks were just as good and my little brother had the time of his life when he found out they had a kid beer". I also ordered a lot of their non-alcoholic drinks which I found were excellent as is the food.Overall

Wonderful atmosphere with great artwork and decor. We were welcomed warmly and escorted to our table. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive without being overbearing and had a very approachable personality and a great sense of humor. The food came quickly and really delivered. The flavors were not too overpowering and we absolutely loved every dish we ordered.
