I had the pleasure of taking a private laser course through West End Academy and had an excellent experience all around. My instructor Ms. Samar was very patient and thorough with her teaching style. She adapted to my learning style which made it very easy to retain the information being learned, and allowed for me to feel comfortable once working in my field. The staff are also very welcoming to everyone who steps foot into this establishment. I also have had a microblading and IPL treatment done with both great results. I highly recommend this establishment. I can’t wait to come back for my future treatments.

I recently graduated from the hair styling course (10 months) and I highly recommend it! Both teachers and colleagues were easy to get along with and I learned so much during my time at the West End Academy. I am grateful for having been part of such a great team that in time became as a second family.

Generally happy with the men's haircuts I've received. Includes wash and scalp massage at a less expensive price (under $15.00). I haven't been to them since they moved to Merivale Mall from Lincoln Fields, but I've been going to them for years. Your cut will be evaluated by the instructor who will typically fix up any little things that need touching up, typically removing some weight" and blending. Generally quick service but waits and cuts can be slow from time to time. Staff has always been friendly. I've gotten into the habit of calling first because their hours can change without notice. No appointment necessary and on a first come

I decided to get a haircut here a few weeks ago and want to mention a few things. One, the prices are a bargain as a Men's haircut is 11$ and for women's it is 20-25$ if I'm not mistaken which are pretty good deals. Two, as it is a beauty school with hair stylists who are still learning, many of them have not yet acquired a lot of experience and skill. To give you an idea, the one who was treating me was fairly inexperienced and often had to ask the head instructor for assistance on how to properly cut my hair. There were times when she had to stop and wait 10-15 minutes to ask the instructor who was taking care of other tasks. In total, the whole treatment lasted more than 1 hour. Nevertheless, the student was still very nice, wasn't absolutely terrible, and has a lot of room for potential. If there were one thing I would suggest, then a main instructor should always stay with a student whenever they are cutting someone's hair. This would ensure that a client receives the most efficient treatment.

One of the best schools..i did my medical esthetician diploma from here last year and i m very happy with that..i got a really good job.And Miss Samar is one of the best teacher thereShe is very knowledgeable and always used to make the learning process more interesting in the class.

Going back to school to become a Medical Esthetician has opened so many doors for me. I love it because there are so many branches in this field you can specialize in once you get your diploma. There are also so many advanced techniques to learn! It is an ever growing industry. Samar was my main teacher for this program and she was absolutely incredible. She is knowledgeable, and very intelligent in regards to the science behind Medical Esthetics. She truly prepared me for the real world and it was a lot easier to become certified on one of the most advanced lasers in Canada after having her as my teacher. She is very supportive and she wants to make sure you leave with the utmost of confidence. Her standards are high, as yours should be as well. I also had the pleasure of learning with Paula. She was great with manicure, pedicure, make up, and waxing. Paula was always kind and she was a great at teaching. I had a great time learning from both teachers and I’m so happy I went back to school. The hairstyling teachers were also very friendly.They recently changed the name to the beauty academy (tres chic if you ask me) formerly known as west end academy. I also heard that got a new owner who seems to be even better than the previous owners.

A great hair-do and a great price too. The staff were very helpful, right from the moment I walked in. I did not have an appointment, they fit me in in a timely manner. They gave me a consultation with a reasonable price. A color and highlights and a blow dry and a fantastic upside down curl style. It came out to be at least half the price I would have paid at an excellent salon, of which I usually go to for my hair appointments. The instructors are well informed and are on top of teaching the students. Your appointment may take a bit longer, because you are in a teaching envoironment, but the quality is still there, maybe even more so, as the work is being checked at every stage of the treatment. Friendly students doing hair, nails, facials, message, pedicures. Everything is the same as a regular salon, except the price, west end academy is so much cheaper, I'm able to afford things I'd normally have to pass on. The teachers are hands on .I definitely would recommend going . you get what you want for less plus you give students experience.

I went back to school in 2016. The director at the time told me they would be having a nail tech come in during the course and train us. So I signed up, applied for osap and started the medical esthetician course. The course came and went and we were never trained for nail tech. This is 5 years ago now and I'm still bitter about it. Nearly 30k in student loans for a diploma I'm not using. Hours constantly went missing as well. I kept track of my hours and I stayed every single Wednesday and Thursday nights. By the end of my course I was still missing hours for the date of graduation. This has effected my osap loan and caused it to go up. (We had several osap people come in and explain how not graduating on time effects your loan). If you're thinking of taking this course, check out Versailles instead.

I attended West End Academy and have nothing but great things to say about the school and all of the teachers. It was a great experience. All the staff are fantastic and it was amazing working with them.
