We all try to give our pets the best care possible despite what it costs financially. Unfortunately staff here were extremely pushy, rude and judgmental if we had to say no to certain suggested treatments or checks. Our final straw after paying over $2000 while being costumers there for our two young kittens was a staff member slamming our money down on the desk when we told them we couldn't afford paying $300 after just paying them $550. Of course it feels terrible to turn down certain things that could potentially benefit our fur babies but a little more politeness and understanding would go a long way. Honestly, felt like money was their top priority.

My gratitude goes to the staff that cared for my Persian Milo when he was sick and at his end of life. You were all so caring.I have been taking my pets to Alberni Vet for four years since moving to the valley and have always been treated well.The building is old and outdated but is always clean, you just have to look past that part..I worked in an old building myself for 23 years ( Malaspina Lodge) and found it to be more homey and caring..I recommend this place of business to anyone.

they pushed me to get my cat de-flead and de-wormed, However when they applied the flea and deworming solutions to him they did not apply it to his skin AS DIRECTED, it didn't even reach his skin as he has long fur.. waste of 20 bucks I could've put it on way better myself. were very quick about giving him his shots and were gentle.Payed 141$ for deworming, flea treatment & all vaccines except rabies

Just had my little chihuahua for dental surgery and it went well. I've been taking Roxie here now for a few years and the staff has always been gentle, kind and caring towards her. The staff called my house a day prior to her surgery to remind me of the appointment. After the surgery, they kept Roxie for an hour for observation and then called me to come pick her up. The day after surgery they called again to see how she was doing. Prior to this we have Roxie' anal glands done, blood work, rabies vaccinations and have always have been happy with their service. The other thing I've also appreciated is how quick they have been able to get us in for anything.

Don’t risk your precious pets life and take them somewhere where they will be looked after with care, patience and compassion. Just don’t go here period!

This is the only place I'll take my 3 animals. The vets are very friendly and informative. Easy to get tests done and appointments.

I took my 2 year old dog to get her eyes looked at as I thought she had an eye infection. I only took her here because I couldn't get in to see my vet, they are amazing with my dog and have never had to restrain her, I hold her while they do there exam and it goes good.Though she is normally calm and happy and completely loving with those she meets, my dog was afraid of the vet assistant.She started shaking as soon as we walked in the door. Neither the assistant nor the vet made any effort to help my dog feel safe and just immediately grabbed her and retrained her to the point she was yelping and hyper ventilating. When I told them she does not need to be restrained they didn't stop and the vet didn't say anything. They were very judgmental and told me I shouldn't feed my dog raw because it's not safe and gave me an info sheet on why I shouldn't feed raw. Raw has helped both my dogs to be healthy. I will never go back and I will not recommend them to anyone.

This clinic has the feel of a farm vet. Grounded down to earth and straight into the matter at hand. They have lots of heart. They seem to be about the work rather than the image, and more about diagnosing what is MOST likely to be going on with your pet and then offering additional options on an as-necessary kind of basis, as opposed to confusing you with so many expensive tests and options or pressuring you into expensive tests that might not be really needed. This approach was exactly what I needed for my dog. This is a really good place to take your pet for standard care and shots and when they’re sick but it’s not dire. It’s not the vet you would be able to use in an true emergency that required X-rays for example, but that’s not really what they’re there for.anyway. Awesome vet, very knowledgeable and willing to explain medications and also what to look for in your animal so you leave feeling more informed about your pet’s biology. I left feeling a lot of relief after the care I needed for my pup. I’ll definitely be going back for my essential doggo needs.

Awful place. A few years ago they would not help my cat because MY MOM owed them money and they wanted me to pay the bill off before they would look at my cat...I was 17 at the time...
