Alexandre Antique Prints Maps

A treasure trove of ancient maps! They've got an incredible selection, and the quality is seriously top-notch, like something you'd find in a museum. I have to admit, the prices shocked me (maybe that's just how it goes in the market)… despite that, it's a great place to spend some time browsing, learning, and collecting.

Amazing shop, with an even more amazing collection. Honestly, my jaw dropped when I saw just how wide ranging it was, although most of it was way out of my budget. The staff (Farnaz) was incredibly patient and helpful with all my niche requests. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was very warm and more than willing to impart his knowledge of the various items in the store. Highly recommend giving this place at least 2 visits!

Alexandre Antique Prints, Maps & Books is a very interesting store. The very wide selection of antique prints and maps will satisfy a broad range of interests. The staff are always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and listed to my needs. I have purchased several maps and prints from them and am very happy.

Brought some old school maps. Ok they weren't on that great of shape. The owner was professional and I'm sure looks for higher quality. However in handling the maps he didn't use gloves as he rolled them in the center using his bare hands. This would be the only reason for losing a star. In looking at the quality of the maps in the store I think his opinion and offer, albeit low for my taste would be in line for someone who would pass on the savings to purchasers.

Great selection. Prices are high, but they have pristine maps and prints that are worth the buy. Make sure to keep your receipt so whoever ends up with the antiques you get they will know how much they can be sold for. I keep all of mine in the backs of their own frames.

Bought a map online through Biblio and the owner of Akexandre's arranged shipping to make sure I received it before Christmas, which I did. The map is wonderful, exactly as described and in excellent condition. Thank you for a great experience!

Alexandre Antique Prints Maps & Books is a historian’s treasure trove. Short of being more properly called a museum of photography where you can actually purchase works, the AAPMB has a rare and astonishing (both in volume and geographic diversity) collection of old prints, classified by geographic location (e.g. Muskoka, Ontario, Toronto, Western Canada, West Indies, U.S.) that depict culturally and historically relevant a streets, buildings, events, sceneries, etc. For instance, prints under the “Toronto” section depict King Street, Toronto, and old city hall in the early, pre-CN Tower years. If your visiting Toronto and love history and culture, this is definitely an interesting and fascinating place to drop by. The store is located in Davisville, not too far from central downtown Toronto (15 minute drive).

I was actually a bit flustered by the absolutely amazing selection of maps for sale. Helpful staff and the prices were pretty fair considering the age of many of them. I picked up an awesome French map from 1741! If this shop was in my own town I'd definitely be coming in every so often to pick up more for my house but luckily they have a website so I can still browse the items and buy them online.
